Doggone Meowvelous

Room & Board pets

At Room & Board, our sofas aren’t the only four-legged things we love. Dogs, cats, guinea pigs and even bearded dragons are just some of the critters we call family.

In addition to being pet owners, we’re proud to partner with non-profit organizations like Pets Are Loving Support (PALS) and Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS) to support animal welfare around the country.

Our Atlanta store recently held an event benefitting PALS with dog trainer Victoria Stilwell. She discussed her new book, Train Your Dog Positively and talked about her hit television show on Animal Planet, It’s Me or the Dog. Guests took part in a silent auction and raised funds for PALS. While there were no furry friends at the event, the cupcakes were darling enough.

Simply adorable! My family also has a couple of very friendly canines, and they love to snooze on our sofa. This, of course, has resulted in fur everywhere, which is why we decided to get a more pet-friendly sofa. I read half a dozen articles and I found that leather is recommended by many to be the best sofa choice for pet owners. So now I’m looking for a sofa outlet like to find an affordable leather couch. Have you found upholstered furniture to hold up to pets?

Hi Holly, Leather is a great choice for pets because you can easily brush fur off the surface, and it doesn’t tear easily. You’ll definitely see some signs of wear over time, but a good leather cleaner and conditioner will help with that. We have lots of leather sofas to pick from, and most of our frames can be custom ordered in leather as well. Our Design Associates can help any question you have about which of our leathers would be best for you and your pets.
