Construction has ceased in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. Our first showroom in New England officially opened on Monday, June 23. But before that happened, we hosted a number of special events to celebrate the much-anticipated arrival of our 13th store.
It all began Thursday morning when we invited our neighbors in for breakfast. The store’s team of Design Associates chatted with guests and gave away a $1,000 gift card to one lucky winner.
Local media stopped by on Thursday and Friday for personal tours of the space. This included editors from The Boston Globe, Boston Home, Design New England and Boston Magazine.
We kicked off the weekend Friday night with a party to thank everyone who played a key role in our expansion. This included employees, their friends and family, manufacturing partners, architects, contractors, developers and city officials.
More than 400 guests noshed on passed hors d’oeuvres and had an opportunity to try a Room & Board specialty cocktail or enjoy a local beer from Sam Adams and Spencer Trappist Ale. A band from the Berklee College of Music (located just down the road) entertained guests with Latin music.
That weekend, our Boston customers (and passersby) enjoyed a special sneak peek of the showroom while snacking on sweet treats and lemonade. Two $2,500 gift cards were given away—one through a paper drawing and one on social media, which encouraged shoppers to snap a selfie with their favorite piece of modern furniture. Nathan of Brookline, MA won the drawing and Ximena of Boston uploaded the winning selfie on Instagram using the #roomandboardboston hashtag.
Thanks to all who helped us celebrate the opening of our new showroom. We couldn’t be more proud to call Beantown home.
