Our stores have held several kids’ events recently, ranging from reading with a dog to children’s yoga to make-and-take art projects. We started thinking about creative activities to do with our own kids (or nieces and nephews) when school lets out. Here are a few of our favorite ideas by age:
Toddlers: Try this Matisse-inspired project and see what kind of masterpiece your budding artist creates.
Grade-schoolers: Create a charming garden village with painted bricks. Kids can check out architecture books from the library and try their hand at different home styles.
Tweens: Go beyond tie-dye tees and let them design their own freezer paper stencils. Hint: this is also a good DIY for kids’ birthday presents. Have kids make one for their BFF, featuring a favorite sport or animal.
Teens: With more than 4,000 pieces, this LEGO Creator Expert kit will keep teens busy for hours. (Maybe they’ll even let you help!)
