Customer comments about Anders Queen Bed:

This is our primary bed and we love it! Well made, beautiful design and very solid. It does not squeak at all. One tiny issue: the bed is solid wood, the side frames have a slight twist/warp to them, due to the grain of the wood. It is barely noticeable.

    Service and delivery comments:

Prompt delivery, fast set up, great delivery team.

Customer comments about Anders Queen Bed:

This bed is pretty great. We've experienced some of the problems mentioned by others. The squeaks...we've found that with periodic tightening, it's no problem (I'm talking like 2-3 times per year, nothing crazy). As another reviewer said after we moved it got better, mysteriously. I'm guessing that weather fluctuations may play a role. Maybe do some research on whether your climate causes wood expansion and shrinking We got a R&B mattress and do not have any of the other problems (headboard visibility, pillow loss, etc.). The mattress is so awesome I may be hooked forever. We don't have any problems reading in bed either but it's obviously not the most plush setup you can get. The trick is we usually keep 2 pillows each.

I waited a long time to find the right bed for my room. The head is in front of the a window, so we had problems finding one that wasn't too high. The furniture is mostly vintage Japanese so we wanted a bed that looked right with that. This bed is perfect, fits our space just right, is easy to make and very sturdy, no squeaks. Love it!

we loved the look of this bed. We got the matching side tables and dresser. It all looks great. You can hear the slats move slightly if you plop down abruptly but the deliver guy recommended adding felt to the bottom of the slats to remedy this. We love this bed and set, looks modern and clean.

Customer comments about Anders Queen Bed:

We bought the bed because we liked the design, but it's been a big disappointment. The biggest issue is the creakiness -- we have tightened the screws several times and added some lubricant to try to stop the squeaks, and just recently replaced the screws thinking maybe the original ones were too short and that was the problem. Wishful thinking -- after one quiet night, we're back to the squeaks. We put some furniture pads on the wall behind the headboard to try to fix the problem, but it only helps a bit. We are ready to give up and just get a new bed -- it is just too loud and squeaky.

Also, I think the headboard is too low -- if you have a typical mattress (which these days is relatively thick), by the time you put pillows on the bed you can't even see the headboard. So though the bed looks great on the website, in reality, you don't really benefit from the design if you have a thicker mattress and want to keep pillows on the bed.

Customer comments about Anders Queen Bed:

We have had this bed in a King for about 3 years now and we are considering either moving it to the guest room or selling it due to a few issues. We like to sit up in bed and read or watch TV and this bed is not made for sitting. First, the headboard does not support 2 people of average weight. It moves and squeaks because there is a significant gap between the wall and the headboard due to the leg placement and modding in our bedroom. We tried to shove rolled up towels in between the headboard and the wall but they would slide out in a couple of days. We actually found a great solution which was to roll up a clear rubber bath mat (the kind that sticks to the tub floor) and place it between the wall and the headboard and that trick stabilized the bed. Next, we have an 18 inch mattress and even with a deep mattress, a gap is left between the mattress and the bottom of the headboard so pillow slide out. I refuse to get an ugly husband so I put a 3 inch foam topper on the mattress and this actually worked but now the look of the bed has changed (not to mention that it's difficult to find sheets as deep as 21 inches). Last, the placement of the legs make it relatively easy to slam your toes into them if you and moving a round the bed quickly (ouch).

Customer comments about Anders King Bed:

We purchased this bed in the king size several years ago. Looks gorgeous, does indeed loosen up with time, but we were able to tighten it easily. Ours squeaked, chiefly where the frame meets the headboard, as another reviewer described. We eliminated this squeaking with liberal use of silicone lubricant. I was reluctant to put this on the beautiful solid cherry, but it was well worth it. We moved in April, and when the bed was reassembled in the new house, the squeaking was still gone! The frame does not show any staining or marking where we sprayed the lubricant, and these portions of the frame are covered anyway. The bed is now perfect.

The slats on the bed frames are 1” x 3” steel slats. Paired with the solid design and construction of the frame, center supports are not required regardless of the size of the Anders bed.

Hi- Can you please tell me if the frame of the platform is solid, or is it assembled on site (in the home)? I'm asking b/c our stair case has a narrow curve, and the solid frame would not fit up the stairs, but the deconstructed pieces would.

                  Thank you.

The under bed clearance is 7 1/2" on the Anders bed and our trundle beds with mattress are also 7 1/2" so there really isn't enough clearance for a trundle to work well.

                    A:

Your mattress is a queen size mattress - 60x80" is the standard dimension for a queen size mattress.
So any queen size bed will work for you. There might be some space around the mattress but typically you want that to accommodate bed linens.

There is approximately 11.75" between the top of the slats where your mattress would rest and the bottom of the headboard. The wood head board piece is 10" high. So a mattress over 12" high would start to cover the headboard.
