Customer comments about Avery King Bed:

The Avery King bed is a fabulous bed and the grey material and design give it the modern look we were looking for in our master bedroom. This bed is made out of solid material and will last many years! We looked at many stores and this was by far the most modern bed we found. We knew this was our bed with the showroom setup of the bed.

When buying this bed, look at the Copenhagen nightstands in white. A very modern look that will catch many compliments from your family and friends.

      Service and delivery comments:

The service at the Edina, MN store was phenomenal. My wife and I hate the big box furniture pressured sales approach and that is one of the #1 reasons we love Room & Board. Everyone in the store is very friendly and truly wants to give each customer a great experience! Many staff members even remember us - which is a little thing that goes a long way. 10 out of 10.

Service men were great! We couldn't believe how polite and quick they were.

Fantastic color (I got it in the stock grey) and design. I was worried the tufting would be a bit much, but it is really well done. The material is durable and I can tell it will last. As always with Room and Board, delivery and assembly were quick and efficient.

I chose this headboard so that I do not have to get matching dressers. The design is clean and simple, and it does not have buttons which I did not want to have.
Although the box spring is not needed, I use the box spring. The headboard is high enough to accept the height of the box spring.

Really like this bed due to its clean design and quality construction. We are using this with the R&B platform provided and no box spring. Still, today's modern mattresses are pretty thick and sit high on this bed. Not a big deal, but would be great if the platform and frame were a few inches lower so that it could accommodate a thick mattress without making the bed too high

Saw this bed in the SF store and fell in love immediately. It took six weeks to have the bed delivered - but the wait was worth it. So sturdy - doesn't ever make a noise. Great fabric color. And the headboard is soft enough (though not cushy soft) that you don't need a pillow behind your head when reading in bed. We're huge fans!

I don't have anything to say that isn't positive about this bed - on all counts it is a really terrific piece of furniture. The platform bed is so solid - our previous elevated bed with a boxspring made noises every time I moved on it, whereas this bed is silent.

The Avery Bed is available in a full size. The top of the support slats (or the bottom of the mattress) is 11" off the floor. There is no need for an additional platform, but our Platform Boards are 1" thick if you do choose to use one.

You may use a box spring if you prefer. There would be no reason to use our Platform Board between the box spring and the steel slats on the bed frame. Please keep in mind that using a box spring will conceal part of the headboard, but that is truly the only consideration when choosing between a box spring and a Platform Board.

If I need to can I put a traditional box spring under the mattress. I realize it will make the bed higher but can the frame and slats support the weights?

Our bed frames are designed for use with a mattress only. Including a box-spring would reduce the exposure of the headboard. With our Avery Bed the top of the platform slats are 11” from the floor, leaving 37” to the top of the headboard.

The measurement from floor to top of the slats is approximately 10 1/2". Our mattresses range in thickness from 10-13 inches, so you can plan on 20 1/2 to 23 1/3 total height from floor to top of mattress.

Based on available color options for the Avery Bed, white does not appear to be one of them. That said, is it possible at all to get the bed in white?

The Avery Queen Bed and all Room & Board bed frames are constructed as full bed frames. The headboards are not available separately.

                      Q:

Hi, We are planning on buying this bed to go with the Westin Heavenly mattress. However, the Westin mattress warranty can be voided if the mattress is not placed on solid foundation or an Westin foundation. Meaning the foundation must be solid and not slats on the bottom. Could you please advise if this will work with the warranty? Thanks!

I have a foam mattress. Since the Avery bed supports the mattress with support slats, do I need a bunkie board to support my mattress?

How deep does the matress sit into the frame? Or another way to put it, how deep from the top edge of sides are the slats the mattress sits on. I currently have a bed of similar style and it's very difficult to make the bed. There isn't enough room to tuck any bedding in the sides as the mattress is a very snug fit. I also have difficulty getting my hand under the mattress to lift it up to tuck sheets etc. That is why I'm asking.

                      Hi Room & Board,

Could you please give me the measurement from the floor to the lower platform of the bed? I'm trying to understand how high off the floor this bed will be after we put our mattress on it. I'm assuming it will be about 25 inches, but I'd like to know the exact dimension.

                      Thank you for your help,
                      Jamie
