Customer comments about Platform Queen Bed:

I bought this bed 10 yrs ago because I live in a studio condominium and didn't want the bed to take up a lot of visual space. The low profile with no headboard or footboard was and is perfect. It's welded steel, so the bed is extremely heavy, but it will never wear out. I have it set up on an angle in the corner and it's quite the effort to move it when I need to vacuum in the little space behind it. This is a substantial piece of furniture. The real pluses about this bed other than the low profile are that even after 10 years it doesn't squeak or sag and the feet are set far enough back from the edge of the bed that stubbing your toe is virtually impossible. It is possible to hit your shins and the bed will not move if you do, but the edges are blunt and not sharp like some other reviewers have said. I've learned to be careful when making the bed. I like modern furniture with clean lines and this bed is exactly that. Even after 10 years, I've never once thought about trading it in for something new.

Customer comments about Platform Queen Bed:

I have had this bed for close to 7 years and am moved to (finally) write a review because after traveling, I have come home to it and am struck again by how much I like it. First, it is heavy. Very heavy. But the beauty of the bed's weight is that it does not move or squeak. It just stays put, leading to very restful evenings. When I first got it, I liked it for the almost floating quality it has -- it is very minimal and sleek. Now I like it for how well-made and solid it is. We used to bump our shins on the edges but with kids in the house, we padded them. It does detract from the look of it, true, but it's not a big deal.

good delivery, not all the hard ware that was needed to set it up was left by the delivery person, mentioned this in a comment in an email review and nothing was done about it. Being so service oriented I thought someone would get back to me and look into it or at least send me the hardware I need to set it up.

I love this bed, but the corners of the base (that stick out) are extremely sharp. I will have to put some kind of covering to prevent injuries and this defeats the sleek, modern styling. If I had known, I would have chosen another bed. It's for my teenage son, but I think it'd be a hazard for anyone.

Customer comments about Platform Full Bed:

This bed has a simple design and a low profile which works great in my studio apartment since it doesn't seem to take up the whole room (even though it's a Full size). It's extremely sturdy, and although a bit heavy, I can't see 2 people having any trouble moving it. You can let your sheets/comforter hang over the sides and you won't even see the frame. It's difficult to get underneath it (even to vacuum) so don't plan on using it for under-the-bed storage. Also, banging your shins on it HURTS (it's steel), so watch the corners of the frame when you're near it.

              Service and delivery comments:

Delivery on my bed (I had this frame and a mattress delivered) was exceptional. Scheduling was very simple (I ordered online, they called me to schedule a delivery at my convenience, and then again to confirm). The movers were very professional, polite, and fast. They had no complaints about having to carry it up to my apartment (4th floor walk-up!). The frame was in excellent condition and they kept it that way. They even cleaned it for me quickly (there might be some dust/residue on it).

Customer comments about Platform Queen Bed:

This bed is all that we had hoped----it is solid and stable with no movement whatsoever, and the steel is a gorgeous matt color which goes with espresso, charcoal, or black furnishings or accessories. We bought the Hudson 2 drawer bedside tables in charcoal stained maple to go with it, with the Nelson bench with black wooden legs at the foot and all ivory linen bedding. The bed shows just a little under the duvet, grounding the room while at the same time making it seem spacious. This was a very good purchase, a forever piece.

                Service and delivery comments:

Every delivery we have had from R&B has been so professional, prompt and friendly. I don't know how they keep such consistency in their service, but THANK YOU, R & B!

Is it possible to buy extra slats? My concern is that the slats are too far apart and that our mattress will sag. But with an additional 2" wide slat in each 5" gap (I got those numbers from one of the Q&A's), it seems like the problem could be easily solved.

Technically, the Twin Platform Bed would fit under the Bower Loft Bed. However, it is extremely heavy, and you would not be able to pull it out from under the Loft to use it. A trundle bed is highly recommended.

I have many Parsons tables from Room & Board with 2" tubing. Can you tell me the size of the tubing used for the bed base? Also, I would like to purchase a set of 4" casters to use on this bed. Is that possible? Thanks.vxg

The legs on the base of the Platform bed are made of 2” tubing. We do not have a custom option to have the Platform bed made with casters.

None of our beds require a box spring. However, from a functional perspective, all of them will work with a box spring and mattress. For the Platform bed in particular, it will work from a design perspective as well.

Hi, What is the maximum size of any piece of the bed that will be delivered? I read previously that it needs assembly; whats the size of the biggest piece (so I can make sure it will fit in my elevator)? Thanks.

The largest piece of the platform bed is the base. It is 48" x 68" x 9". You will also have two platforms that are 62" x 41" x 1".
