Customer comments about Room & Board Queen Firm Encased Coil Mattress with Bio Cotton:

I searched all over the internet for the most environmentally-friendly and safe-for-your-body mattress. Most mattresses are so toxic for the human body that I was very happy that Room and Board had a "natural" mattress that was more reasonably priced than other companies. However, the mattress "rustles" or "squeaks" sometimes when I roll over. I've never had a mattress that rustles! And yes, I took the plastic cover off the mattress! Go figure!

Customer comments about Room & Board Queen Ultra Plush Encased Coil Mattress with Bio Cotton:

We've had the mattress about a month now and continue to like it. It took a little getting used to at first due to the "plushness" of the Ultra Plush. In the store we decided the firm was definitely too firm and the plush was still on the firm side. I'm mainly a side sleeper and wanted something that was soft enough so my arm wouldn't fall asleep. Our previous mattress was a pillow top that felt great until it wore out. This mattress feels like floating on air while still providing deep support from the coil springs. I can see the upper layers could develop a body impression over time, but expect to rotate regularly to help mitigate that. Time will tell. The only thing I was a little taken aback on was the measurements are just an inch or so shy of a standard queen and leave extra space on the sides and end of our bed frame. Not a big deal, but was expecting the full 60 x 80 I've always had with queens. Curious another reviewer also noted this.

Great mattress, very comfortable and supportive. It could be a touch less firm, but I have been sleeping quite well on this mattress. Our old mattress didn't have enough support, so I've been enjoying this mattress.

Customer comments about Room & Board Queen Ultra Plush Encased Coil Mattress with Bio Cotton:

The mattress I recieved is several inches too short in length and width compared to the size of the base on the queen sized bed that I ordered with it. This ends up leaving a large gap between the mattress & headboard...makes me wonder if they delivered the right sized mattress?

I bought this mattress when I first lived in the city & then left to live abroad & sold it. When I returned I went back to the same store & they looked me up & I bought it again because it was such a good mattress & kept it's shape the 2+ yrs I had my first one. Looking forward to having this one for a long time!

Product was great at first. However, after only two years it lost its firmness. At year three, it's basically mush. We would have been much better off buying from a different brand. We called R&B, but they said this is "normal aging" for their mattresses. I wish they had told us that up front!!!

Customer comments about Room & Board Queen Plush Encased Coil Mattress with Bio Cotton:

I had great hope for the ultra-plush mattress, as the sample in the showroom was marvelous. However, the mattress I received is quite different. The first one I received was not even remotely like the showroom mattress. I made an extra visit just to double check and my husband and I were astonished at how different it was. After the usual good service from someone at Room & Board we decided to swap it with another of the same type, thinking there was a mistake with labelling or manufacture. The second mattress is defintely better, and I was hopeful that it would soften up. However, after three weeks it is still hard and making my back hurt. The ultra plush aspect is definitely missing. The next suggestion from the sales staff was to get a feather bed. While I am sure this would help I am unhappy about spending about another $500 to make an already expensive mattress approximate what it was represented as in the showroom. Very disappointed.

Tried out this mattress three times at the store. But after two weeks at home, I was sore all over in the mornings. Coils pushed up a lot and created too many pressure points. Exchanged for a memory foam mattress.

One request: please add handles on the side of mattresses; makes it a lot easier to rotate. Thanks

In your encased coil mattress, where is the cellulosic fiber? Is it incorporated in the outer cotton cover or is it a separate layer (like a rayon wrap)? If it is a separate layer, where is it in the cross sectional photo? Between the outer cotton later and the soft quilting foam?

Yes, the Encased Coil mattress will give very good support. With the mattress on a firm, solid surface the overall feel will be firmer so the added plushness of the Ultra Plush mattress will balance that. Let us know if you have further questions about our mattresses.
