I just had this King size bed delivered yesterday and I love it. It is streamlined and not bulky and so solid. Also the raised height gives the illusion that it takes up less Space. Interestingly my bedroom looks larger with this king than my previous queen bed because of the quality design.

The service was outstanding. The delivery went without a hitch - they were on time, courteous, and set it up quickly. The bed is sturdy and solid and the wood is gorgeous. My only quibble is that the headboard is slightly lower in height than I expected from viewing it online. Nothing to do with the quality of this piece.

Delivery folks were great. They brought the wrong size bed slats and returned the next day to complete the assembly.

Customer comments about Grove Queen Bed:

I have owned a queen size Grove bed in cherry for about 6 mos now. The wood and the design are just gorgeous. As a plus, the round corners can make a real difference in tight spaces. My previous bed had square, sharp corners and I would occasionally get bruises on my leg by accidentally hitting one of the corners. This doesn't happen with this bed. The construction is very high quality. It doesn't squeak, it's incredibly stable for its design. I purchased a foam mattress from another retailer and I did not have any fitting problems. The bed and the mattress worked perfectly together. I strongly recommend this bed. I am thinking about buying another one for a second room.

            Service and delivery comments:

Awesome delivery and assembly by the crew. On time, careful with details and with my new wood floors.

This is a beautiful piece that has a versatile style. It makes our bedroom look super classy. The construction is very solid, and you can tell that it is made out of quality materials. Our standard king mattress is just a tiny bit small for the frame--you can see the metal slats of the frame if you are looking down on it, but it is really not a noticeable problem. The delivery and assembly were easy and affordable.

Customer comments about Grove California King Bed:

We liked the sleek lines, rounded corner and walnut finish on this bed. The sales associate was very professional, and the bed arrived as promised. White glove delivery by very professional men. We have been using a free bed frame that comes with mattress for very long time, so this king sized bed was such a welcome change.

I was concerned by some comments here on the bed being squeaky, but after 3 months of use, there are no such signs. It is very sturdy.

                Some things to remember through:
                - The delivery happens on a weekly basis. If you are not available for that day, you have to wait another week.
                - The king sized mattress, if not from RnB, will not fit. There are couple inches of gaps on the sides. We were forewarned though, but that doe snot make it any better. RnB needs to comply with the standard king sizes.

                Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt. We got the first slot of the day, and the delivery guys arrived at 8.30am. The bed was packaged well, and no tears, scratches etc.

The delivery men were very courteous. And over all the customer service is great. The sales associate will follow up in couple of weeks to see if everything went well. Nice touches.

Customer comments about Grove California King Bed:

I saw this bed frame in an advert for a mattress company and was taken by its simplicity and beauty. When I learned it was from RB, I marched right down to the showroom to see if it was as beautiful in person. I was not disappointed. It is well built. The one detail that impressed me was the beveled edges; no sharp edges. The finish is achieved with wax or oil and it looks natural yet elegant, not glossy or "shellacked". We purchased the king bed in solid walnut and couldn't be happier.

                  Service and delivery comments:

This bed was backordered so we had to wait about 4 or 5 weeks, but it was worth it. The delivery guys were very careful bringing in the pieces and putting it together.

No, the Grove does not have center supports. The steel slats don't need support to prevent warping.

                    Hi,

I am interested in the king size grove bed, and would like to put two twin mattresses on it rather than one king. Looking at dimensions, it appears that two twin mattresses may be too wide for the grove bed frame. Do you have any suggestions?

                      A:

The Grove King is designed to accommodate a standard King mattress of 76” wide. Standard Twin mattresses are 39” wide, so two of them total 78”. The Grove frame interior width dimension is 76.75”, so it will not accommodate two standard Twin mattresses.

Our King size beds were redesigned starting in January of this year for the 2013 collection. The interior dimensions where your mattress will rest are 76.75” x 80”. A king size mattress should measure 76 x80”. The 81x85 dimensions are the outside measurements (footprint) of the bed.

                  • Q:

Many of the reviews say that king mattresses don't fit the bed - standard king mattresses (including the ones you sell) are 76x80 inches, yet the bed measurements say 81x85 inches. That seems like a large gap - 2+ inches on each side - to have between the mattress and the bed frame. Is this the correct sizing? Are you planning on altering this bed to make it fit standard mattress sizes?

                    Thank you for your help!

                    Hi,

I am trying to see how high the top of the bed will be once my mattress is in place. Can you please tell me the height of the bed, measured from the top of where the mattress will sit so that I can calculate the height measurement?

The bottom of the mattress will sit 9.5” off the floor. You’ll add your mattress height to this to get the height from the floor to the top of your mattress.

The Grove queen bed has twelve wood slats and the space between them is about 4". The center support is only on the king size bed.

Room & Board beds are designed for the height of a mattress only. If your mattress requires a box spring, we would recommend a low-profile style to reduce the overall height. Our Platform Boards are a great option in place of a box spring: http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/product/detail.do?productGroup=5061

                    Q:

I understood a prior answer to suggest there was only 10 inches between where the mattress sits and where the first headboard rail sits -- 24 1/2 minus 14 1/2. I have a 13 1/2 inch mattress, so it sounds like it will go three plus inches over the lower rail of the headboard, which doesn't seem desirable -- but in the picture it seems like there is a lot more room and the headboard would still be above the mattress. Can you clarify?

Does the stain used for other pieces of cherry furniture made by other suppliers match the finish on the Grove bed? For example, if we pair the Grove bed with Sherwood dresser, will the pieces be close enough in color to give a uniform look to the bedroom? Thanks!

                      A:

Grove and Sherwood are made by different vendors so the wood will be slightly different between the collections. However, both collections are made with unstained, unlacquered natural cherry so both will darken and patina beautifully over time.
