Customer comments about Portica 60x36 29h Table:

I purchased the Portica table in the stainless legs with maple top and charcoal finish for my dining room. I also purchased the matching sideboard. I absolutely love the clean, modern look of both the table and sideboard. Both pieces are excellently constructed and durable.

The one thing I have noticed is that you have to be careful with the dark charcoal finish. It can scratch and leave marks. Since the main purpose of our table is dining, I bought some custom table pads online which match the size of our table and only put them on while we're eating/using the table. I would highly recommend this. It has kept the table scratch-free and it still looks great one year later. Since the table is real wood you don't want to keep the table covers on permanently though (the wood needs to breathe).

I would not recommend this table (at least in the charcoal finish) as an office table or for crafting or homework due the fact that it can scratch easily.

We purchased the portica table in venatino marble. Having lived with it for almost a month now, I still stop and admire it nearly every day. It is stunningly beautiful, and has surpassed every one of my expectations.

Be aware, the marble is HEAVY. My husband and I (both strong and in good shape) can't begin to pick the table up.

We originally wanted the Linden table with Grey Quartz Composite but decided to switch to the Portica at the last minute. It was the right choice for our modern dining area. The stainless steel frame and grey quartz looks so beautiful together. Matching well to the stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and the wall colors.

Customer comments about Portica 60x36 29h Table:

I use this for my everyday dining table for me an my partner. Six chairs will fit fine, but without any extra room. I got the brushed steel with clear-glass top, so the tabletop cleans up with a quick wipe with Windex. The steel/glass combination lets the table take up very little visual space in my small apartment. In short, I couldn't be happier with the table.

                Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was easy to arrange, on-time, and the delivery guys were polite, efficient, and careful with the table and all my existing furnishings.

At first glance the product looks great and hopefully it will wear well over time. I really have to mention that our delivery team out of Princeton, Wisconsin was fabulous. Very respectful, removed shoes and used gloves to put on my frosted glass table. I went with the glass after reading the other reviews about how the wood would get scratched pretty easily. Makes sense, it's wood. So I opted for the frosted glass instead and I am pleased. I paired it with four Afton cherry side chairs with ink leather seats and the Portica bench in the bison leather. It looks amazing!

I mulled over this purchase for quite some time. The tabletop material was quite pricey and it was a hard purchase for me to make. I do not regret it. I am very pleased with the quality of the furniture and think that it fits my condo quite nicely. The quartz material is easy to clean and seems quite durable, no scratches so far. My fiance's only complaint is that the table is perpetually cold.

I love the look of this table and it is just the right size for our Kitchen. I choose the solid Walnut because it's beautiful, but also because I have two small kids and know Walnut to be a harder wood. Unfortunately within the first week of having the table my 3-year-old managed to put an inch-long knick in it. I'm not sure how, because I was sitting with him and he didn't even have a utensil. We immediately put a glass top on to protect it from our kids, but no matter. In the 10 months we've had it more knicks have appeared. I've come to learn I can scratch the table with my fingernail. If we were treating this table carelessly I would understand the damange, but we baby and protect it and nothing seems to keep it safe. I didn't want to have to cover it with glass, since it alters the look, but since that's not even working I'm contemplaitng a table cloth - and that's definitely not the look I wanted for my kitchen!

This Portica table has 57" of space between the table legs. Ideally, you will also want to leave a few inches on either side for ease in moving the bench. 53" is the widest bench that will work effortlessly with this piece.

                                A:

Reclaimed chestnut tops are finished with a high solid oil/wax. Moisture and heat can damage any wood finish. Protect your furniture by using coasters and trivets. Always wipe up moisture promptly and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid dragging sharp or rough objects across the surface of your wood furniture. Using adhesive felt pads, trivets, coasters and placemats will help prevent scratches.

While dry dusting is the best cleaning method, you may use a slightly damp cloth as needed and wipe dry. Treat your furniture with Room & Board Satin Wax annually or to reduce the appearance of fine scratches.

MDF is a type of hardboard, which is made from wood fibers, glued under heat and pressure. Our MDF Table Tops have a powder-coated finish. Although powder-coating is a durable, seamless surface it is not impervious to stains and damage from moisture and heat. Take the same precautions you would with any wood furniture. For day to day cleaning, wipe with a soft cloth and a solution of water and mild detergent. Wipe dry. For spot cleaning, spray with an all-purpose cleaner, and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning products.

                              Hello,
can you kindly specify the measures for the thickness of the wood top and how wide are the legs? I see the width and the length for the top but I haven't found the 3-rd measure anywhere and the legs too. I assume it is the same for any options (length and width) you are offering.

                              Many thanks

Saw the question above. So the portica table is shipped all as one piece (legs attached to top)?

Second question: how good is the walnut finish at repelling water stains (from glasses left on top)?

The stainless steel bases of our Portica tables are fully welded. The table tops would be attached at delivery. Although our wood table tops have a lacquered finish; we do still recommend your protect your furniture by using coasters and trivets as moisture and heat can damage any wood finish. Always wipe up moisture promptly and dry with a soft cloth.

I plan to use dining benches with this table in a corner banquette location. Since we need to 'slide' around the table, I don't want the table legs getting in the way as they would with the configuration of the legs being at each of the table corners. Can I order the table in a smaller size and the top in a larger size? Will the table base support a larger top than that which with it comes?

The Solid Walnut top has a lacquer finish, so Satin Wax is not recommended. Lemon oil will greatly improve its condition, but refinishing it will bring it back to new condition. We recommend a professional provide this service for you.

The 80x40 quartz top is two equal 40x40 pieces. Quartz is a composite of man-made material and natural quartz. It’s very resistant to chipping and sealed for additional protection. It’s a great option for families with children. All stone and glass tops rest on small silicone bumpers on the base of the table. The bumpers protect both the base and the top and help prevent slipping.

The grey glass is painted on the underside. Any scratches on this bottom surface will show up on top. Colored glass can stain due to the etching process the glass undergoes. As with any glass top, you'll also have to adjust your tolerance for fingerprints.
