I was slightly disappointed when I first got the table and benches. It looks ok but, for the price, I was hoping it would feel more like a solid wood table. To me it felt more like a cheaper table I could have bought from one of the large discount websites. In photos it looks great. I convinced myself it's fine because I can't afford more expensive. It's now 7 months later. It still has a chemical like new furniture smell. I had it in a screened in room the first few months so didn't notice it but now that the room is closed up the whole room stinks from the table. Now I just had someone put a box on the table- not aggressively or anything, just a cardboard box, now there is a giant scratch on the top of it. I'm just disappointed. For the price I was hoping for better quality.

Nice quality and looks great in our house!

We ordered a similar design dining room table on Etsy and it took 3 months to deliver. When it arrived the table was severely damaged and no white glove delivery. We found this table at Room and Board that was very similar to the table we had ordered on Etsy. We were able to look at it in their showroom and decided to purchase. R&B have an excellent white glove delivery service and within 1 week from purchase the table was delivered in perfect condition. The 2 gentlemen that delivered were very professional and quickly delivered and setup in our dining room. The table is beautiful and well made. We will definitely look at Room and Board for future purchases. Well Done! #sweepstakes

The table is beautiful and solid/heavy. It looks amazing. But standard usage e.g. setting the table for a meal using normal tableware or setting a vase in the middle scratches the finish. We noticed scratches within the first week of receiving this very beautiful, very expensive table. The only solution is to constantly cover it with a heavy table cloth, which was not the point of buying this hard wood table. We wanted it as a show piece but now we have to hide it. This was a big disappointment.

Great quality, solid wood and looks as described. Love the color and design, it feels like a table you can own for life. #sweepstakes

Is a beautiful product. Very sturdy and I assume durable. Very heavy, so may not be as movable as you want. High quality.

Great looking. Great table.

I've had this dining table for 9 months now. We paired it with 4 Cora chairs. This configuration is a bit of a squeeze because the Cora chairs are wide. The table could easily accommodate two more chairs. I love the timeless design and clean lines. The wood is solid and the charcoal stain is a nice matte black finish. We (household of two) use the table for dinner and occasional homework duties. I had one accident where I placed a hot paper plate (straight out of the microwave) on top of the table. This left a burn mark. Room & Board provided directions to remove the mark. Thankfully , I was able to get most of it out but I can occasionally see the spot depending on the light. Since then , I've learned to ALWAYS use a placemat. The other day I noticed slight chipping on the edge of the table. I used a Room & Board touch up pen to cover the marks. Base on reviews , I was concerned about scratches but being that this is a lacquer finish on a dark color I think it's inevitable. In my case , I do have some very faint scratches that are only visible under the right light. They don't bother me. Overall , I would put the surface durability as somewhere between delicate and worry free. All in all , I would still buy this table again because of the construction and design. I would recommend the use of placemats and cleaning with Room and Boards hardwood cleaner. #sweepstakes

Solid design. Great wood contours. Classic to match with my other furniture

This dining table is GORGEOUS! This is such a quality piece that we use for a long time. I was a little worried about the negative reviews saying that this table scratches easily, but that is not our experience. The surface is very durable, and we haven't had this issue. We got it in white oak. #sweepstakes
