Customer comments about Parsons 60x36 29h Table:

We love our table with reclaimed chestnut wood. When we ordered it, we specifically asked if we could have a really used looking table, i.e. lots of worm holes and personality! That was exactly what we got! This is a really well put together table, beautiful to look at and a great height for both eating and working at.

Great design that works with many styles. Goes with the chairs we already had. A big plus was the different sizes and tops to choose from.

        Service and delivery comments:

The people who delivered were terrific. They were a little late due to Friday afternoon traffic but called a few times to let us know their eta. Brought the table in and made sure there were no marks etc. Also, no packaging. Highly recommend ordering from Room and Board.

We got the 78 x42. We needed a a height of 28.5 and the glass top was perfect. We got the frosted glass which gives off a sea green color hue.

Customer comments about Parsons 60x36 29h Table:

The piece is shown in the home office section, but there are not many additional items/add ons that make it more useful as a desk. Perhaps a monitor bridge or something.

                      Service and delivery comments:

This is the second time that I have ordered from R&B and will, unfortunately, be my last. The delivery options were far too restrictive. When i bought the piece, on a Sunday, the sales agent said it would be unfair to ask the drivers to work on a Sunday. Therefore, I was told to take time off work and I was offered a Tuesday at 3PM. And 2 days before, i was called and told they would come between 10:30 - 12:30. No negotiation. So clearly, sales is more important than service.

Customer comments about Parsons 48x30 29h Table:

After several months of searching, and eating on the couch in the meantime, I finally gave in. I was looking to spend as little as possible for a dining table that matched chairs I already had. I shopped at budget furniture retailers, but realized that if I wanted to save money, it would be better to get a table that would last and that I knew I would enjoy aesthetically for a long time. I knew I wanted a white top, and originally had the MDF in mind. But after much hemming and hawing, I settled on the white quartz composite because of durability, and it just looks a lot better.

I've now had it for about a month, and am very happy. It's incredibly sturdy, and so easy to clean up. I'm sure I will have it for decades, if not my entire life. I got the 48x30 version since I live in a tiny apt now, but if I ever replaced it with a bigger dining table, I think it could be easily repurposed as a desk.

While dry dusting is the best cleaning method for lacquered finishes, you may use a slightly damp cloth as needed, being sure to wipe dry. For persistent spots, gently clean with a soft cloth and a solution of water and mild detergent, being sure to wipe dry. Do not use cleaning products containing ammonia, alcohol or petroleum and avoid furniture polish, over time these can accumulate and leave a residue.

                              A:

Although powder-coating finish on our MDF Table Tops is a durable, seamless surface it is not impervious to stains and damage from moisture and heat. Take the same precautions you would with any wood furniture.
                              • Protect your furniture from moisture and heat by using coasters and trivets.
                              • Always wipe up moisture promptly and dry with a soft cloth.
                              • Avoid dragging sharp or rough objects across the surface of your wood furniture. Using adhesive felt pads, trivets, coasters and placemats will help prevent scratches.
                              • Dust with a soft, dry, untreated cloth.
                              • Avoid direct contact with rubber bumpers and candle wax as it may react with the wood's finish and leave a stain.

The most durable tops for our Parsons collection would be the Granite and Quartz options as they are inherently scratch and stain resistant. Glass is also an option to consider since its so easy to clean. Glass can show minor scratches over time if placemats and coasters aren't used but since it comes in at a lower price point, it might make sense for the busy years with small children.

Want to order Parsons table. Love the look of butcher block and walnut, but afraid does not fit my life if I want to maintain the look. Two tweens in household. live in 3rd floor walk up. Only one dining space in apt. In last 24hrs have used table to host study session, complete water color painting homework, host every meal, and used it to as main surface for decorating sugar cookies. If this is our lifestyle, what surface do you suggest? Worried anything stone is just going to be too heavy.

For a table that can withstand a lot of living and its inevitable clean up, the best table top surface is our quartz composite. It is not too heavy (either literally or visually) and will meet your needs while remaining beautiful.

Several reviews have mentioned that the nitocellulose lacquer finish on wood tops doesn't stand up to daily use, especially with kids. If I ordered a custom sized table would it be possible to specify a polyurethane finish?

Marble is porous and can stain if spills are not immediately cleaned up. Granite and quartz are much more stain resistant. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact our Design Associates at 800-301-9720.
