Great design! Couldn't be happier. The delivery people even pointed out a small tear in one of the pieces that I hadn't noticed. As always, R+B has been excellent to work with to replace the damaged piece.

Customer comments about Marlo Queen Bed:

Bed was just delivered this morning, I ordered it in the tetris fog fabric during their sale. I haven't slept on it yet, but it is a beautiful design and cleary very well made. It seems sturdy and is just what I was looking for.

I live in a small apartment and the bed isn't too overwhelming for the space, but adds a lot of character.

        Service and delivery comments:

I went into the store in December looking at a few beds. The salesperson I worked with was so helpful and even gave me a tip that this bed would be going on sale after Christmas. There was no pressure at all and she was extremely friendly. I followed her advice and was very happy to save a little bit of money.

Delivery experience was excellent. They called to give me an 8-10am delivery window. Called at 8am on the dot, saying they were just a few minutes away. They arrived, were very friendly, even took their shoes off before coming in and put everything together quickly. Couldn't be happier as I have had some negative delivery expieriences with other companies in the past.

Customer comments about Marlo Queen Bed:

Beautiful bed despite all the polyester fabrics one has to choose from. I wish they had more variet in colors and fabrics.
I like the idea of a storage drawer on the bottom. just pray that you do not receive a defective storage drawer, because it will not be fixed, despite them pretending to be "making a whole new bed".

          Service and delivery comments:

Loved the delivery guys. Very professional, clean, respectful. After working with them I wanted to buy all of my furniture from Room and Board.
This order was made in July 2013. I am still dealing with customer service. The screws on the drawer were not drilled correctly. They were unable to secure one side of the upholstered front of the storage drawer. Instead of drilling new holes, or even replacing the drawer, customer service said they had to put in a new order for the whole bed. Are you kidding. I waited 2 months to get the first bed, now I have to wait another 2 months for a replacement bed because of 2 wayward screw holes on a drawer.
I have been calling customer service since no one has called or emailed to keep me up to date on the status of this item. I have called twice and each time the ship date was delayed. This time 1 month. What a scam. It seems this is not a priority since I have a working bed and drawer.
I like the fact that they have in house delivery, but any issues after that, you are on your own.

I'm an interior designer so I am VERY picky with furniture when it comes to my own home. I wanted a "wing style" bed that was durable and affordable. We chose the Vessel fabric in color Cement which is a chenille-like fabric that is perfect. We have two kittens that scratch everything and this has held up to them for at least a few weeks. This fabric (from their custom fabrics) is the perfect mix of beige and gray. I love this bed so much and feel like I'm sleeping in a high end hotel every night!

This bed is perfect. We bought the king size Marlow in the stocked fabric and couldn't be happier. The color is great, not too beige and not too grey. The fabric has a great texture and looks fantastic. This is our first of hopefully many Room & Board purchases! I placed my order on the phone after choosing from the website. The consultant was patient, knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. All in all a great purchasing experience and a fantastic product.

We purchased a new bed for our master bedroom in our new house. Our mattress is an organic latex matress that doesn't need a box spring. Together with this frame, both my husband and I are sleeping soundly in a sleek, gorgeous looking bed that fits perfectly with our rustic but contemporary decor.

They were here and done in 15 minutes. I am so glad we bought this one. I had a hard time deciding but what a great choice. The fabric is soft and easy to clean. The structure of the bed is sturdy. Thank you for making such an amazing bed. Will most definitely be back.

All of the beds say no box spring required, but can you use a box spring with this bed, or any of the others? My experience has been that a box spring helps prolong the life of the mattress.

Room & Board Bed Frames are designed for use with a mattress only. While the bed frames would certainly support both a mattress and box spring; adding a box spring would reduce the exposure of the headboard and raise the overall mattress height. The steel slatted platform offers more support than traditional box springs. If you are concerned about placing your mattress directly on the steel slats we do offer platform boards for purchase. http://www.roomandboard.com/catalog/kids/room-and-board-kids-mattresses/room-and-board-platform-board

While we are able to sell the metal slats separately, you would also need to purchase a wider headboard and footboard. The only pieces that can be reused are the siderails. It would be more cost effective to purchase a new bed frame.

All of our beds are made to US standards and will fit all standard mattress sizes. Occassionaly, on an upholstered bed frame, we allow 3/4" to 1" extra for ease in bed making.

The details in the design and placement of the mattress in comparison to the headboard allows for sufficient room to easily make the bed and tuck in sheets.

Yes a 15" h mattress will work well on the Marlo. The mattresses you see on our beds are between 11-13" h so you'll have a slightly higher overall finished height on your bed. The mattress would rest about 10" from the floor on the Marlo bed. A:

The Marlo is upholstered in the Tetris fabric, a blend of acrylic and polyester. These synthetic fibers are inherently stain resistant and the fabric can be spot cleaned. Professional in-home upholstery cleaning is needed for overall cleaning.
The Tetris is a great choice for an easy to clean fabric but fabric is more vulnerable to soiling than a wood or metal frame.

All Room & Board beds are designed for the clean, modern look of a mattress only. The Marlo features a steel slat support system that eliminates the need for a box spring. The feel of the sleep surface will be determined by the type of mattress you choose.

A box spring can be used, but our beds are designed for the height of a mattress only and are not adjustable. A low-profile box spring would be better than standard height, but is still likely to sit up above the upholstered frame. The overall height will of course depend on the height of your mattress.
