Customer comments about Room & Board Moda Twin Bed with Low Footboard:

We purchased this bed when transitioning our son from crib to bed. The height was a bit high at first, but nearly 6 months later and he can get into it very easily. The wood finishes are very clean and have a simple, modern look to them. We also purchased a matching nigh stand and are very pleased.

I think this goes with just about any decor for any room and can be used for many years. I would purchase this bed for a teenager's room as well. The under bed storage drawers are a great added bonus, but keep in mind if you buy them, you will not be able to put a nightstand on either side of the bed. I like that there's no foot board on the model we bought for easy in/out access. We also use a railing with this bed (standard universal railing) and it fits beautifully on top of the wooden slats. The men who delivered the bed could not be nicer (a father/son team) and they set it up exactly where we wanted, were clean with removal of packaging/debris, and were courteous and professional.

Customer comments about Room & Board Moda Twin Bed with Low Footboard:

This bed is definitely worth the price. Very clean design, high quality solid wood, excellent mill-work and perfect paint (smooth, silkly finish, and definitely no crazy smells from the paint like lesser quality beds). And as a plus, it's hand-made by woodworkers in Astoria, Queens, New York.

My wife and I felt the design was better with a standard foot board as the "headboard" and the low-cut foot board as the "footboard". Our R&B sales person was helpful in communicating our request with us and the contractors and the company had no problems in customizing this for us. It was a very great shopping experience.

The bed is easy to put together with the help of one other person to hold things steady. I had it shipped to my nearest warehouse and picked it up myself without any extra fee. The slats fold flat and fit into a Honda Fit (do bring some towels to protect the pieces). Defintiely 5 stars for this bed.

This bed is so beautiful in its simplicity. Perfect design and highly functional with the hidden trundle underneath. Looks great with every decor. Our little girl sleeps in the Full size and it's just right. The minimal design will look great with all the changes we'll make to her room as she grows up.

Customer comments about Room & Board Moda Twin Bed with Low Footboard:

I love the design of this bed. It's absolutely perfect for a kid's room, especially with the low footboard that affords my toddler the luxury of climbing up by himself. The height of the bed is also great for underneath storage. We have large wicker baskets with cute liners underneath that bring it all together. Sadly, the bed came defective. While I waited for the replacement, the lacquered finish started to peel. My son is in daycare fulltime and has a playroom downstairs. He is in his room only to sleep, there is no reason why this should have happened in 5 weeks. Room & Board should rethink their marketing of such finishes for children's rooms.

This bed is amazingly versatile and complemented furniture we already had from the crib years. It's minimalist yet can be feminine or masculine depending upon bedding and makes the room feel like it's just not another page ripped out of a popular kids furniture catalogue. We have two moda twins in an average sized bedroom and there is still plenty of room to walk/play. We chose the low foot board and there are no sharp corners to get hurt on.

Love this contemporary clean bed (in all white) in my 5 yo daughters room! We also have the 6 drawer dresser and one sidetable in Moda white/maple. Looks wonderful in our updated California Tudor with our other contemporary decor. Clean & traditional with plans to keep through teen years. My only concern is durability - We have one small chip in the sidetable, and I am cautious to put much on top, but no problems with bed yet. Would hightly recommend as long as you are not rough on your furniture.

                        A:

MDF is used on the headboard and foot board pieces of beds and the trundle. The Moda collection features non-toxic, lead and phthalate free coatings. The MDF used is compliant with the Eco-Certified Composite Sustainability Standard and is made in the USA. This particular material is NAF (no-added formaldehyde) MDF, and is CARB2 compliant, falling well below the emissions levels established by that control measure. The lacquer is pre-catalyzed, NY-VOC compliant with zero emissions after 30 days of curing.

Yes, the Moda twin trundle will fit under the full size bed.

Can you please tell me if you offer a storage option for under the bed that is about the dimensions of the trundle? In our case, we'd like to utilize the full area underneath the bed for storage but since the bed will be in the corner, purchasing all four drawers will not be of use to us (since we'd only be able to access two drawers, not all four, at any given time).

The Moda trundle bed makes a great storage drawer, it comes with an optional center divider panel to give you two equal storage spaces.

                      Q:

Does the low footboard moda twin bed mean that the actual height of the bed is lower thus making it easier for a toddler to get in and out on her own?

                        A:

The Moda bed side rail dimensions are the same for the high and low footboards. 16"h to the top of the side rail and 13" from the floor to where the mattress sits.
The low footboard option has a footboard height of 16" to match the side rails. The high footboard is 30"h.

No box spring is required, the mattress sits right on the wood slat support system.

Yes, it is available with the low footboard option. On Moda bed page you'll see the label for size on the left before the color options display. Click that box open and you will see the option for the low footboard bed. Click the image and you'll see all the information for this style.
                        Thanks for your interest.
