Customer comments about Bower Loft Twin Bed and Twin Platform with Casters:

AS OF SEPTEMBER 1, 2014, the bed is delivered as 3 separate pieces that are put together on the spot so it FITS EASILY THROUGH DOORS. The description on the site is outdated and misleading. We were concerned about fitting through doors but it is now super easy. Even though it is 3 parts, it still feels super solid. Top platform slides into the legs. See pictures. Absolutely love the bed. And the reason the frame is a little larger than a mattress is so that the kids can use the first slat as a rung to climb onto the bed; otherwise there would be nothing to hold on to. It is a purposeful design that makes sense (If you tried to grab onto sheets you would fall backwards).

Customer comments about Bower Loft Twin Bed and Twin Platform with Casters:

We live in a small condo with two boys, aged 5 and 1. When the second baby was coming, we knew we would not have enough space for both a bed and a crib in their room, so we decided to give this a try. The baby slept in a bassinet until 4 months, and then we transferred him to the bottom bunk of this bed. We took the wheels off so that the frame just rests on the floor. That way, if he ever rolled off (which he did a few times), he only fell six inches onto a carpeted floor.

Over a year later, we still LOVE this bed. It doesn't take up much visual space in a room, and the boys love sharing it. It's so stylish and unique--we always get asked about it when people come over! And it's so sturdy that we fully expect it will last until the boys go to college.

A lot of people (okay, mainly my mother-in-law) were horrified that we put our baby in a bottom bunk instead of a crib, but it was seriously the best decision we ever made. When it's time for bed, he will crawl right over to his bunk, climb in, and pull the covers up over himself. If he decides he's not quite ready to sleep, he can crawl right back out on his own and play in his room, then get back in when he's ready. When he wakes up in the morning, he gets out of bed and plays until we come in. There's no fussing, no crying, no bedtime battles--we're all incredibly happy with the arrangement. I highly recommend this bed!

Customer comments about Bower Loft Twin Bed and Twin Platform with Casters:

The simple and sturdy design of the twin loft and platform bed on coasters works perfectly in my teenaged son's small room. The loft bed is short enough to make bed making easy! As much as we like this set, buyers should be aware of the following short comings:
    1. Loft bed is too tall (can fit through a 31.5 in. door opening only if door removed). The manufacturer should reduce the height by 3-4 in. to make it fit more universally through door openings.
    2. Finish on loft bed in natural steel scratches easily.
    3. Loft bed is a bit too long for a twin sized mattress. It could easily accommodate a twin XL were it not for the slats in the middle being recessed.
    4. There isn't enough room between the platform and the loft frame to comfortably sit up if the beds are set up as shown in the website.
Regardless of the negatives, we love this bed set!

So we were soooo excited to get this bed. After tons of scheduling glitches and working around the delivery it finally arrived and we were NOT able to get it into my son's room. We were so disappointed. The delivery guys did everything they could but our doorway was just not wide enough. We had measured and everything but it needs extra clearance to angle it through. So they took it back. What bummed me out even further tho is that we were still charged the, what we now call, "non-delivery" charge. We ended up with a really nice [@]loft bed that we modified a little to look similar and it's been great.

We purchased the twin loft bed and 2 twin platforms on casters for our triplets bedroom (age 8, 2 girls & 1 boy). The beds will be great for them to grow into since the have a timeless style that can appeal to different generations. They are perfect if you are trying to steer away from the standard bunk bed.

I believe this bed is of excellent quality, sturdy, and looks amazing (modern and simple). I say I "believe" because the delivery was AWFUL and the delivery guys scratched the bed so bad (which is hard to do, by the way -- the finish seems really sturdy) that I need a replacement.

Customer comments about Bower Loft Twin Bed and Twin Platform with Casters:

This is the perfect bunkbed for little boys. We started using it when my sons were 4 and 1. The 1-year old moved from his crib to the lower bunk. The upper bunk is not too high (unlike many bunk beds.) It is sturdy, modern, and flexible. I love that the bottom bunk can slide directly under or at an L. It is really a great bed.

The only issue with this bed is it is impossible to get into most bedrooms. It fit fine when we lived in a modern condo. When we moved to a house (even recently built) - the 1-piece upper bunk was just too awkward to get through the doorway. We actually had a handyman cut the higher bunk right above the 2nd bar up, drill holes 2 holes above and below the cut, and screw a piece of metal on the inside to make sure the pieces aren't separated unless we undo the bolts. But now we can take it apart and move it!!! I have no idea why the manufacturer doesn't just do thisd to the bed - it is brilliant.

Also we have 4 guard rails (2 on each) - sheets/comforters don't tuck neatly on lower bunk. Not a big deal - just not visually the best.

I have young kids (5 and 2 and 1/2). The oldest has wanted a bunk bed for ages. However, I didn't want the 2 year old climbing up on a tall bunk when they are playing in their room. This is a perfect alternative. Plus, it takes up less space then 2 separate beds.

Yes, both the loft and platform can be purchased separately. On the product page click the SIZE drop down menu. Scroll down to see the Twin Platform with Casters options.

                      Q:

Hi, I'm planning to purchase this for my kids room. However I'm concerning that They might not be able to deliver it to their room. The narrowest part is their room's entrance door part, it is only 29" width and the height is 79". Will they able to tilt the bed and enter the room?

The Bower high twin bed can be tilted during delivery, however the bed measures 31h 42d and 81w. There may be a fit issue if there is not enough space allowance to maneuver into the room. Contact us at 800.301.9720 and we would be happy to discuss other options.

Can I get just the tall loft bed without the bunk below? If so, how much would that be? Thanks.

Yes, the high twin bed is available. Above the product image we have selection for size and within that the high twin bed is at the end of the list and is $500.

                      Q:

We live in St. Paul MN and have purchased many items from room and Bd over the years. I am wondering what the exact clearance is that we'll need if we want to purchase the loft twin bed. Many people have complained about it... Our house is old with nooks and crannies, so I'd like to resolve before we get the bed... Thanks

                        A:

The loft is one piece and does not come apart for delivery so the overall dimensions of 81w x 42d x 31h need to be considered as you look at your home and the path for delivery. Since the 31" height is only at the ends of the bed there is the ability to notch the bed frame through doorways but its important then to consider the length to make sure there is room to maneuver. We are happy to help but we'll need you to take some measurements and consider some questions such as ...
Have you been able to deliver something of similar size, perhaps a box spring, to this space? Do walls, light fixtures or stairway heights interfere? Our fit guide gives some visuals on how to measure.
