We have 2 teenaged sons and their big dudes in a small room. They both fit into these beds and have created a nice little nest along with an oversized chair and big TV. They love it. I love the beds as they are virtually indestructible. R&B delivery guys set it up and gave us instructions on use, cleaning etc so, it's fantastic

Customer comments about Fort Duo Bunk Bed:

I really like the simple open feel of this bed. No option to separate bunks in the tiny room where I am using this, so I did not consider the Made in Asia stackable units. I bought "boxed" foam mattresses at a discount store and they fit and look great but smell has to dissipate and they are bulky when making beds (a daily chore with any bunk). Thoroughly enjoyable shopping and shipping experience!

Customer comments about Fort Duo Bunk Bed:

I put this bed along with a twin in a small guest room in our weekend home. It was perfect. The room still looks spacious and I doubled my sleeping capability. The bed is rock solid...so no jiggling when someone is in the top bunk. The kids love this bed and I love the way the room looks. This is a very versatile bed. I weekend place is more like a cabin...and this fit perfectly with the "cabin" style...just put some Pendleton Blankets on the beds and we were good to go.

For those of you who find this bed difficult to make here's a hint. We put some sliders from Home Depot on under each foot..and now we can easily slide the bed away from the wall when we make it and then easily slide it back when we are finished. This little trick really did the trick when it came to making the bed.

My boys just love this bunkbed! They could have their own bedroom each, but because of this bed they stay in the same room. The bed is masculine and well built. This bed grows with the child, appropriate for elementary age all the way on up to high school. Many of the bunkbeds from other stores seemed to sway and creak. Not this one! If there's ever an earthquake, I'm going under this bed.

                    A:

The Fort top bunk with mattress would have a height of about 60" so if you have a standard 8' ceiling that would mean about 3' of clearance.

Can we use whatever twin mattress on the top our son has been using on his regular bed currently?

We recommend a low-profile 6" twin mattress for the top bunk.

About 2 feet of space is ideal. The overall height on the Fort bunk is 64" (floor to top of rail). From the floor to the top of a 6" high twin mattress on the top bunk is 57".

Hi, does this come delivered all in one piece? If so, how do you manage to get it up into the bedroom? Thanks

                    A:

The bunk does come in several parts; but the two end panels are both one piece of welded steel, so they are the largest pieces to maneuver into your space. The bunk is assembled in your room by our delivery team.

                  Q:

Does this come with mattresses? If not, we're fine buying the mattresses, but we're wondering if a box spring is required.

                  Thanks!

Can the ladder be installed either on right or left side?
I've seen both pictures. We need the ladder to be on the left when you are looking from front.

Yes, the ladder and the top bunk guard rail can be mounted on either side of the Fort Bunk Bed. The delivery team will attach the ladder and rail right where you want them as the bunk bed will be assembled in your home.
