Customer comments about Ian 81" Sofa:

Great sofa! I have a very small living room (10X13) and the 81" sofa is a perfect fit! My favorite thing about this sofa is the color...it's like a very dark grey and goes perfectly with my green accent chair.

Customer comments about Ian 81" Sofa:

We've owned the sofa for 4 months and unfortunately, we will be returning it. The seat cushions have not held their shape - even with frequent flips. Not as important but noticeable is poor/sloppy finishing around the cushions. This is our day-to-day family room sofa, so perhaps it would have held up longer if not used on a daily basis. Pros: The arms are a nice width, the back of the sofa retained it's shape and nice fabric color.

      Service and delivery comments:

Awesome! The delivery service was outstanding. Professional and respectful. The gentleman removed their shoes without even asking. One of our couches had to be broken down because it wouldn't fit in the door. They didn't hesitate to disassemble and reassemble the sofa, while providing tips on how to keep it clean.

Customer comments about Ian 90" Sofa:

I would highly recommend this sofa. The fabric is soft and luxurious, and even shimmers a bit in the daylight. The seat is deep, and the back firm - but with just enough give to feel a bit cozy. I am very tall (5'10"), and so is my partner (6'+), and this sofa fits us perfectly. It has a very a sophisticated look, but also fits right in with the rest of our belongings.

Customer comments about Ian 81" Sofa:

I love that these are made in smaller sizes - I have two of them in an L formation as the primary seating in my living room. I've owned a lot of R&B furniture, and these sofas fall down in two ways that I've come to expect R&B to excel in. First, these are just not comfortable to sit on for more than ten minutes - your butt falls asleep. We often go and sit on my OLD R&B sofa in my study because it's 1000X more comfortable. Also, the cushions lost their shape very quickly - and the seams moved around so that in addition to feeling bad, they look funny. I've owned these for three years, but they were already showing signs of age after a year, which is really weird because 95% of the time, we sit in the chairs in my living room rather than on the couches because they're not comfortable, so it's not like they've experienced high-wear.

Customer comments about Ian 73" Sofa:

Love the look, quality, no back cushion, clean lines and tailored look of this sofa! This is harder to find in a sofa than one would think! All the criteria I thought were important to me when I bought it. After great delivery and living with the sofa for 30 days, and ending up not using it, I realized that while the Ian 73" scale was perfect for my small apartment and it was comfortable to sit "formally" on,but I don't sit formally at home. I like to curl my legs up and it was too small for me to do that. My husband and I need to be able to lay down on it,lounge comfortably to read or watch a movie or sleep. The sofa length and seat depth ultimately were too short and narrow for our needs. We need more functionality for the way we live. So we may have to go with something that the scale is a bit oversized for our space but works for the way we want to use the sofa. Love Room & Board and the quality of the sofa is great and the delivery service was the best!

Customer comments about Ian 90" Sofa:

The Ian sofa is a beautiful addition to our living area. While 90 " seems large for a condo - the room needed a sofa that would offset our large leather side chairs. This sofa did the trick and is both comfortable and classy looking.
As we have been R&B fans for years - this piece fits nicely with all of our other R&B furnishings.

            Service and delivery comments:

Our delivery service was impeccable. We live in a 4th floor condo with one smaller elevator. The delivery guys has to remove the feet to get it to fit in the elevator and had to make sharp turns to get it into our home. They managed all of this in a very professional manner. No dings, scrapes, etc. The delivery window given was followed to a "T". We are extremely pleased with the overall service provided by R&B.

Customer comments about Ian 73" Sofa:

I bought the Ian 73" sofa as a companion piece to the Dean leather sofa I purchased at the same time. I needed sofas in a hurry, having sold my previous sofas on a whim the day before. Beanbags and lawn chairs lose their appeal quickly once you hit 40.

The customer service rep suggested the Ian as a great companion to the Dean leather sofa (I don't love matching suites of furniture, and prefer to mix and match), and was able to find a 73" Ian sofa in the Vessel chenille in stock for immediate delivery.

The two sofas look perfect together, and I couldn't be happier. The customer support I received was phenomenal, and as a result I have two sofas that are really comfortable, very good-looking, and that are upholstered with fabrics that will stand the beating of a two year old.

The Ian couch is "my" couch, and I've spent the last three nights and mornings testing it out. The arms are the perfect height and the seat pillows are already starting to soften a bit and sit less like a "new sofa". I think I'll be very happy with this sofa for many years.

              Service and delivery comments:

Service was wonderful, everyone did exactly what they said they would, and everyone made sure we were happy with the service provided before we completed our interaction.

The delivery staff were fantastic as well. I appreciate everyone on the Room & Board team.

The Ian wood frame is kiln dried engineered hardwood. The wood is Sustainable Forestry Initiative certified. The inner foam core in the seat cushions is wrapped in additional foam made of at least 20% plant-based material, and the fiber in the back pillows is 100% polyester.

                Q:

Is the Turin fabric, in the custom options, stain resistant?
Asked on 9/29/2013 by New House Owner

                1 answer

                • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

                  A:

The Turin fabric is not treated with a stain repellant, nor is a microdenier or microthread a part of its weave. Therefore, it should be treated as a normal fabric option, not one that is inherently stain resistant.

                Q:

Unfortunately, this beautiful sofa will be subject to direct sun for around 4 hours per day. I can certainly put a throw blanket over the top, but was wondering if anybody has experience with fading. I love the charcoal, which is a bit dark.
Asked on 8/25/2013 by couch hunt from San Francisco

                1 answer

                • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

                  A:

All fabrics are subject to some amount of fading, so it's best to protect upholstery from direct sunlight if at all possible. Vessel, the stocked fabric on Ian, is polyester and acrylic blend which gives it some inherent fade resistance. However, a darker color like the charcoal will show fading faster than lighter colors.

Our front door is 32" wide and we're interested in the Ian 90" sofa. Will there be an issue getting the sofa through the door and into the house?

                1 answer

                • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

                  A:

The Ian sofa is 32" high and has removable 2" legs. It should fit through a 32" door if that includes the clearance for the door itself. Please also consider any turns the sofa needs to make to get to its final destination. Our Fit guide may be very helpful for you.

We love the Philadelphia area and it would be a great spot for a store. Until then, if you make it to New York or Washington DC please be sure to check out our stores there.
