Customer comments about Ian 73" Guest Select Full Sleeper Sofa in Dakota Fog:

We purchased a TownHome with a small living area, we needed a comfortable sofa to sit on AND a comfortable Sleeper for overnight guests. This sofa/sleeper has been Perfect so far.
It has been in our home a month and is comfortable to sit on, last night we used the mattress for an overnight guest and they were amazed at how comfortable a sleeper it was.
I was hesitant initially as the sleeper is a combination of material/foam mattress and air mattress (50/50), but it is Soo comfortable! The pump to inflate the mattress was designed simply and easily-I am Impressed.

Customer comments about Ian 81" Guest Select Queen Sleeper Sofa in Vessel Charcoal:

This sofa looks great, is comfortable and supportive (though I added pillows to get a little more fluff), and adds a lot to the living room.

I LOVE that there was no outgassing, and expect no evil flame retardant chemicals getting into my body. Quite affordable, given that.

In an ideal world, it would have a little more softness--at the same price--but I hope to get some of that over time. I haven't used it yet as a sleep sofa.

We wanted to keep our office used as an office but still provide sleeping accommodations for guests. Comfort as a couch and a bed were key. I love the style of the sofa for every day use and our guest used the bed for a week and gave it rave reviews. Pricey but for pulling double duty so well, it was worth it.

      Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was exactly on time. The delivery people was so nice and courteous and while the doorframe was narrow, they flipped the couch around until we figured out the right way to get it through the door.

We needed a nice looking and comfortable couch that also doubled as a bed for guests from out out of town. This bed had great reviews on Room and Board, and happy to say we got exactly what we were hoping for. Guests (older in laws) find it comfortable and the other 98% of the time it's a great couch in our home office.

Customer comments about Ian 81" Guest Select Queen Sleeper Sofa:

The 81" Queen in Dakota Fog is just right for our 1967 Northwest Contemporary home. Its lines are not too linear, but not too "overstuffed," either. I love the block feet in black. This couch looks like George Clooney in a tux: buff but mature. :)
We use this couch in my home office, and it is not a large room. But there is room on either side of the couch for a book shelf/table, and our first overnight guest loved it.
Sitting on the couch feels well-supported, but not hard. Just firm. I use couch pillows, and find the couch quite easy to relax on.
Our only guest so far found the bed very comfortable. The mattress is well-designed and should not be called a sofabed. It feels like a real mattress. If you've never slept on an air mattress like this, trust me: it is the only way to go. Just make sure you read and follow the directions that come with the small, durable electric pump. If my MOM could learn how to inflate/deflate the bed, so can you.
I used flannel sheets from a well-known online store, and they fit well. Sheets stay tucked in. Blankets, too.
Only Con: the cost. I am sure it is worth every cent we paid, but golly, I've never spent this much on a couch. I hope to have it in our family for many, many years to come. And given its quality design and manufacture, I probably will. Best, I know that all our guests will appreciate their sleep at our house. And that's worth a lot.

The Vessel fabric has a higher degree of durability, the fabric is 79% polyester and 21% acrylic. Fabric with a higher count of polyester will always be more pet/kid friendly, than a fabric with cotton. Please contact us at 800-486-6554 if you should need further assistance.

Our daughter is planning on putting this sleeper sofa in her guest room but is concerned that the inflatable mattress will not stand up to her 3 year old daughter, her large dog and her cat. How sturdy is the material?

                A:

The chambered vinyl air mattress sits on top of a 5 ½” innerspring mattress and is covered in 1“of dense polyester ad a ¼” fiber pad for protection and comfort. With normal use, and proper deflating before folding up the sofa, the air bladder will perform for years. It can be punctured, however, and when inflated it can be damaged by animal claws or sharp toys.

What happens to the air mattress when the couch is folded up? I assume it must be deflated. How easy is it to inflate and deflate?
Asked on 7/30/2013 by Del from United States

              1 answer

              • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

                A:

Yes, you will need to deflate the mattress before the sleeper folds back into a sofa. This is very simple to do - there is a large valve that you open and as you close the sleeper, you will find that it pushes the air out as you go. Inflating the mattress takes under 2 minutes, depending on how firm you would like the mattress, with the air pump that comes with the sleeper.
