Customer comments about Emmet Lounge Chair:

Perfect chairs to enjoy the cool of the evening and view off our deck. They are attractive on their own as well. Our only quibble was that the easy assembly was anything but. Room and Board was responsive and helpful as always.

    Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt, and product arrived in excellent condition. Customer service was stellar in response to our challenges with assembly.

Love the design and quality, but had to return these sculptural beauties because they were not comfortable. Room and Board's customer service is wonderful. We have many pieces of Room and Board furniture in our home, and will buy anything we can from them in the future. Check R and B first before you shop anywhere else.

Customer comments about Emmet Lounge Chair:

I've assembled two of the four chairs so far. They are nice looking durable chairs. It takes about 1 - 1.5 hours per chair to assemble, and on the first one, I made a mistake I have to correct. I think the directions for assembling the front panel isn't clear, and I put it on upside down. This means that the middle support isn't actually supporting the chair, which means I have to make sure a heavy person doesn't sit on that chair until I have time to fix it. I'd say that for the amount of money, I would have expected the chair to come assembled.

Also, I knew this beforehand, but the chairs are not terribly comfortable. You need a cushion if you're sitting on it for a long time.

Purchased 4 to use around our firepit. Love everything about this chair except it is very, very cold to sit in at night here in the colorado high country. If you have cool summer nights (40's), I would think twice --- or have plenty of pillows/blankets to put between you and the chair!

Customer comments about Emmet Lounge Chair:

Really great chair - stylish, durable, easy to clean, no fading and heavy so they won't blow around in strong wind. Only down side is price, they are a bit low to the ground and difficult for older people to get out of the chair. They also get super hot in the sun, unlike other materials, so you definitely need a cushion or pillow to keep from scorching your legs in the summer.

We ordered 2 chairs in orange for our front patio; they arrived promptly and were easy to assemble. They are comfortable for my 5'2" frame and my son's 6'4" frame. We love the distinctive look of this Adironack style. It's not the same look as every other house on the street and it adds a nice splash of color to our patio. The bottle opener is much admired by the neighbors. We are thinking about getting a couple more but they are a little pricey so maybe next year.

We have 3 around our firepit and they look amazing. but they are uncomfortable, we had to buy cushions for them, which kind of defeats the purpose of a clean look. But you can't sit in them for more than 30 mins around the fire without your backside hurting, and you have to slide down into it to rest your head on the back-- so you're at an awkward angle. Again, they look great. But for the price... I'd prefer they were more comfortable.

Does the color of the Emmet chair fad over time when used outdoors?
Asked on 9/26/2013 by Pete from St. Helena, CA

              1 answer

              • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

                A:

The sun is very hard on materials that have constant direct exposure and we cannot guarantee the
material color will not change over time. The HDPE used in the Emmett collection has a UV
stabilizer and is very resistant to fading. The color is not a finish coat; it is a pigment embedded in the
                material throughout.

There is a slight texture to the recycled polyethylene material used on the Emmet collection. Texture would be comparable to that of an orange peel.
