Case Study

Summary

Description

Add a touch of Mid-Century modernism with our Case Study Planters. The mix of matte glazed ceramic and weatherproof powder-coated steel creates a sculptural foundation for your flowers or greenery. These elegant planters can be used indoors or out, but we recommend bringing them inside if temperatures drop below freezing.

Customer comments about Large White Planter with Metal Stand:

I looked long and hard at these planters on line...loving the look, but I kept talking myself out of them because they are, frankly, a little expensive. I looked for weeks trying to find decent looking planters that I liked as well. (Why are there so few really good-looking, simple, well-designed planters in the world?)

I finally decided to order them. I've seldom been so pleasantly surprised by an online purchase. First of all, they arrived here in less than 48 hours. Secondly, they are significantly more hefty than I had anticipated. The pots are thick, heavy, and have a beautiful matte finish. They even are embossed inside on the bottom with the Case Study mark.

The stands are solid (no assembly, no flimsy connection points)--with 5/8" think solid steel dowels with welded and nicely finished seams. I had some concern that the stand and overall "lightness" of their appearance would make them top-heavy or too fragile for outdoor use. Forget those fears. These pots are impressive in every good way.

Customer comments about Large Charcoal Planter with Metal Stand:

we use this in our corporate office conference room to hold an old plant. It doesn't have drainage holes, so you need a black plastic nursery liner pot to drop into it. (we have the black ceramic version). it would be nice if this came with a liner pot that fits it exactly but i found something almost the same size.

Customer comments about Small Charcoal Planter with Metal Stand:

I ordered the small planter, and upon receipt learned that the diameter dimension referred not to the pot diameter but to the diameter including the stand. The actual pot diameters are 11" and 13". I requested Room and Board send me the larger size, which matched my needs, intending to return the smaller size. Together they are stunning, so we kept both. :)

My favorite thing about the planters is that they allow sunlight to beam underneath the planters, which brings more light onto the floor. The planters sit on a small Flor area rug, so the raised height allows full view of the colorful rug, while making a stylish statement by the back door.

        • Large Charcoal Planter with Metal Stand

          Q:

What are the interior dimensions? I'd like to keep my plant in a plastic container (with drain holes) so that I can remove it for watering and then replace it back in the Large Charcoal Planter with Metal Stand. I need the dimensions to source an appropriate size plastic container that will fit.
