Customer comments about Aria 42r Dining Table:

The design is great but the top is not a solid slab of wood. It's strips. Also, other reviews said 36" was fine for four, but only if you don't have any actual plates, napkins and glasses on the table!

Service and delivery comments:

Perfect customer service and delivery.

Customer comments about Aria 42r Dining Table:

We bought the 48 inch round with the white mdf top and the stainless base. We have young boys age 3 and 6 and were worried about wobbling based on other reviews. We have been really happy with the table so far. It is stable - no wobbling. I think as long as your floor is level, it won't wobble. It's common sense that since the base is in the middle of the table, if you put a ton of weight on the edge, it will tip, but we've had no issues with that at all. We told the kids that they cannot sit on the edges of the table or it will tip. And it's probably not a bad thing to teach our kids that they shouldn't sit on tables :)

We love the MDF top and the stainless base. It is a clean, comfortable look that suits the style of the table. it's easy to clean - hasn't stained or scratched (granted it's only been about 3 weeks!) and holds up to the kids. Since the price is lower, we aren't as stressed as we would be with a more expensive wood top. Bottom line - it's great. Some of the mixed reviews had us questioning whether this would work for us, but we are really happy with this table.

My first dining table in 9 years ...

Customer comments about Aria 42r Dining Table:

I have a 480 sq ft house ... and haven't had a dining table for 9 years. A friend gave me the idea for a bench seat with a round table and suggested the Aria from Room and Board. Wow! I got the 42" walnut top ... when it first arrived the base and top seemed "too big" to me ... but after a couple of days dining at the table with my new bench seat, it's perfect! The finish and beauty of the walnut is what I really like - I am very happy with my purchase. As for the wobbliness others have written about, that was a concern for me. I have not found the table wobbly - sure the top gives when you lean on it; most round tables will. I am happy.

        Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt; the technicians friendly and very conscientious of what they were doing; and assembled the table with ease. Happy.

Customer comments about Aria 42r Dining Table:

Table is beautiful, exactly what I envisioned for my kitchen. After one weekend of light use (just a few family meals around the table) we decided it had to go back. The wobbling is out of control and I feared one of my 2 children would flip it. The base is not heavy/sturdy enough to support the 42" top. Its going back. I ordered the Portica Round Table in the same finish in hopes it will be more stable.

                Service and delivery comments:

Room and Board always delivers excellent customer and delivery service. Customer service representative is coordinating my return pick up and delivery of replacement table. I have no doubt the return will be as easy as the delivery.

                    A:

You should always use coasters and placemats to avoid scratching your solid wood table top. In addition, the best way to preserve the surface and the finish is to clean using only a soft cloth slightly damp with water and a gentle detergent. Never leave moisture sitting on the surface, and protect the wood with citrus oil (such as lemon oil). For additional care information, please visit our Product Care page.

I want to purchase this table but am concerned about the wobbling issue several reviewers mentioned. If I purchase this, and it wobbles in my home, will Room and Board allow for a return and full credit?

Depending on how level the flooring surface the table base is sat on; there is always a potential that a table can wobble. We don't charge a delivery fee for returns or exchanges . However, original delivery charges are not refundable.

                  Q:

I am interested in the Aria 48r dining table, but in reading the reviews, all of the customers who purchases this specific size have stated that table is wobbly. Before I make the investment, I would like to know if the wobbiness for 48r or larger has been fixed. It appears from the reviews the smaller size diameter tables do not have this issue. Thank you.

As long as the surface the table is placed on is level you should not have any issues with wobbling.

Hi there - previously, there was a Q & A on the potential for scratches on the painted MDF white top. Are the wood tops as easily vulnerable to scratches as the white painted top? Can we get a marble, stone, or corian top to this?

                    A:

Like our MDF white tops, our wood tops can scratch if not properly cared for. We recommend using adhesive felt pads, trivets, coasters and placemats to help prevent scratches. No, we do not offer any stone tops for the Aria dining table collection.

Can you provide specifics on the laminate / MDF tabletops? What is the thickness of the outermost layer (the surface layer that is bonded to the MDF)? Is it warranteed against scratching and staining?

                    A:

The mdf table tops have a painted, not a laminate, finish. The paint is sealed with lacquer to protect the finish. Scratches are possible and we do not warranty against them. Minor scratches in the lacquer come with everyday use and place mats and coasters are recommended. Scratching through the paint won't happen readily but rough or sharp heavy objects or bumps in moving can impact any painted finish.
