Customer comments about Ella Queen Bed:

I searched my bed for many months. It was our first bed and we were looking for something to last long without losing the style. I love how this bed can match with different kinds of furniture in our bedroom so we don't have to purchase as a whole bedroom set. The delivery was great. They were very kind and came on time, and finished the job quickly. We don't wear shoes in our apartment due to sanitary reason and delivery guys were generous to take off their shoes without even me having to ask them.(some service providers refuse..) I wish it was little bit cheaper but hopefully it will be worth the price. We have tempur foam mattress so if you have same mattress you have to get bunky board. I thought about getting it from somewhere else at cheaper price but Room & Board bunky board comes in fabric covered so you don't have to worry about all the wood scraps coming off. I give 4 stars for price but other than that I'm very happy with my purchase so far. And our saleswoman Luita, was so helpful and friendly. She seemed she really care about our questions and concerns as this is not like few hundred dollar purchase. I really recommend her if you live around SF area.

We had it made in Dawson grey and I love the soft light tone of the fabric. The headboard is just the right height, as you can still see it behind the pillows. It feels sturdy and comfortable. We matched modern white lacquer nightstands and it looks great. Just wish there was the option of removing cover for washing.

Customer comments about Ella Full Bed:

our toddler was in a twin bed so we transitioned her to the ella (full size). her room is relatively small but it fits great in her room and looks beautiful. the only small thing that I noticed is that there is a little bit of a gap between the full size mattress and the actual bed (about an inch of bed can be seen once the mattress was put on the bed.) it doesn't bother me as the sheets/blanket cover this up but something to be cognizant of.

            Service and delivery comments:

superior delivery/service. they were on time, installed the bed quickly and were VERY courteous. couldn't have asked for a better experience!

It was time to step up and get my teen son a real bed. He has a tendency to be an active sleeper - pillows off bed, launching onto bed, active repositioning in the night. And not only is this bed very attrative, it takes the beating. Also, the soft headboard keeps him from whacking his head in the night, and when I make the bed the foot area is also upholestered and doesn't 'bite' me as I round corners. The pets approve too.

Considered the Ella for awhile; now wish we'd purchased sooner. Love the metal slats. Very sturdy; this bed is not going to wobble. The padding around the sides gives the bed a comfy feel, while the legs add lightness to the look of the piece.
Only criticism is this: The wool fabric on the headboard isn't completely snug, so not perfectly smooth. But overall this is a great value and expect to enjoy this bed for years.

                    Q:

                    I have 2 questions:
                    1) How far apart are the slats? My mattress warrantees only when slats are 2" or less apart.

                    2) Is the fabric a slip cover that can be changed?

                    • DESIGN ASSOCIATE

                      A:

The steel slats are approximately 4-5” apart on the king size bed. If your mattress requires less spacing, we do offer a platform board that you can use with the slats for a solid surface option. You can view the details for the platform here: http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/product/detail.do?productGroup=5061
The bed is fully upholstered and is not available with a slipcover option. However, you can spot clean the fabric as needed.

I was wondering about how this product is delivered. What pieces of the bed frame come disassembled and are assembled once it is moved into the home? Need to know if it will fit up the staircase in my apartment building.

                      A:

The head and foot boards attach to the side rails and assembled in your space. The largest piece of the Ella bed would be the headboard at 46"h x 82"w. If you have successfully gotten a king size mattress up the stairway, you shouldn't have much trouble with the headboard. Consider these dimensions and let us know if you have further questions.

I am in need of a mattress as well as a bed frame. In addition to purchasing the Ella Queen Bed, I'm wondering if I should purchase my mattress at R&B as well. The reviews for this bed tend to indicate that the mattresses purchased from R&B would fit better on the bed than a mattress from another vendor. For example, one reviewer indicated that his mattress was "too short" for the bed. Please advise.
