Comments: I love this armoire! I have it in walnut and it's beautiful! It's so well-made and, while an investment, I know I'll have it forever. Living in a one-bedroom apartment, I was constantly feeling overwhelmed with clutter and closet overflow. This piece of furniture holds SO MUCH and makes my bedroom feel organized and polished. The six drawers on the side are substantial and allow for the separation of items that had been jumbled together and stuffed into one or two drawers. The adjustable shelves are so versatile! I use the bottom area for my handbags and the top shelf for jewelry and accessories, with sweaters in between. The bottom drawer is huge! I'm just so pleased with this purchase.

Comments: We took our time deciding to purchase this armoire in walnut because of the price. And now we are thoroughly enjoying it. It truly does look like sculpture, not just furniture. The workmanship detail is remarkable, i.e., mitered corners. The drawers open and close easily and glide smoothly. The doors were difficult to open, but the delivery guys fixed that easily. The wood inside the cabinet and drawers is smooth and clean (and still has that lovely "woody" smell).
I can't say enough about doing business with Room and Board! From the sales team to the delivery guys and everyone in between, everyone is professional, helpful, and delightful to work with.

Comments: It looks good and it is solid wood but doors started rubbing against each other after 1-2 months of use because some hinges got bent for unknown reason. Room and board technician was able to bend hinges back and doors started working well again. Same problem happened again about 1 month later. it takes 1-2 weeks to get technician to come and service my armoire.

Comments: This is a beautiful piece. The color and variations in shades are just perfect and so unique. However, where the drawer knobs had been drilled had a lot of splintering which did not look good. We had to get some drawers swapped out and this was done without any hassle. It took a while to get it done and hence the 4-star vs the 5. Otherwise, the construction is quality and the piece looks very stylish.

Comments: I bought this product to replace a smaller, less sturdy unit. I use it as a pantry in my kitchen/dining area. It has more storage than I can use right now which is exactly what I was looking for in my small house. It truly is a showpiece that I get compliments on from all my guests. The only issue I have is that is seems like the knobs could break off if bumped the wrong way, but I guess that's why there is an extra one included. I love the fact that if I move in the future, I will be able to use this piece in any room I choose for any purpose - its perfect.

Comments: I like this product very much. In a small NYC apartment, it provides a much needed extra "closet." The walnut finish is beautiful and looks great with exposed brick walls. The top is also a storage option as we put some speakers and plants up there to maximize space use. The construction is solid and everything works well. It's pricey, yes, but definitely worth it.

Comments: Beautiful piece from the front. Unfinished (not stained) on 2/3 of the back. Found it unusual so it will always serve me against a wall. Expected more from Room and Board.

Comments: This is our third R&B piece (all within a year) and like the others, it is well-made and a great value. I know that it will serve us for years to come.
My only issue is the strong smell that emits from it, which is why I gave it 4-stars. This is sort of like the Seinfeld episode about the smell in the car, because everyone's reaction is the same: "Hmm, that's interesting." We think the smell is either the walnut wood or the finish, and it has diminished over the 5 weeks since it arrived, or maybe we've become used to it. When it arrived we let it air with the doors open for 2 weeks, we've put fragrant bars of soap in it, we've put bowls of coffee grinds in it (they say coffee grinds absorb odors), we've other odor-absorbers, but the smell is still there. The smell isn't offensive, but it's curious that it's so persistent, and since it has diminished sufficiently, we store things in it and they don't smell when they come out.

Comments: The armoire was the wrong style to match our other Room and Board bedroom furniture.
Mid-century details like solid wood turned and tapered legs and beveled edges lend an air of refinment to the Grove storage collection. Handcrafted by Pennsylvania woodworkers, Grove features an oil-and-wax finish that enhances the natural grain pattern of every panel of its solid wood construction.
The Grove armoire is available in several sizes and configurations so you can find the perfect storage solution for your space.

GROVE CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
Learn how every part of our American-made Grove collection is created, from the materials and hardware to
construction methods and finish details.
Each Grove piece is constructed one at a time by an expert artisan. The entire case is reinforced
with time-tested joinery, built and assembled by hand and then hand sanded and finished before it
comes to you as a fully assembled piece. Our commitment to benchmade construction ensures you
receive furniture that's built to last a lifetime.
We source our solid woods within the U.S., which has some of the strictest forestry standards in
the world. Every board is hand selected for color consistency and strategically placed to create a
cohesive appearance. The natural markings of the wood make each Grove piece one of a kind. Grove is
constructed entirely from solid wood, except for the back panel and drawer boxes. Exterior back
panels are unfinished wood veneer, while visible interior backs are finished wood veneer that
matches the piece.
Every Grove piece is finished with oil and wax, which is designed to highlight grain patterns and
bring out the natural luster of the wood. Artisans apply this rich finish by hand and lightly buff
the surface for a subtle sheen. The oil moisturizes and seals the wood and the wax offers a layer of
light protection. We recommend applying our Satin Wax annually to maintain your Grove furniture.
Drawers and Glides
Each drawer front is solid wood and perfectly aligned within the frame of the piece. The drawer
boxes have Baltic birch plywood sides connected with dovetail joinery and a wood veneer bottom.
Full-extension ball-bearing glides allow you to see the entire drawer when fully open and glide
smoothly even when the drawer is filled to its 100-pound capacity. Drawer interiors are hand sanded
for a smooth feel and left unfinished.
Doors, Shelves and Hardware
All doors are built from solid wood and precisely inset within the frame of the cabinet.
Concealed, fully adjustable hinges open 110 degrees and give you the option to adjust the door
alignment for perfect functionality through years of use. Interior latches keep doors securely
closed. Some Grove pieces feature sliding solid wood doors with hidden hardware for nearly
effortless functionality. Shelves are made from solid wood and rest on adjustable steel pins. We
designed the mid-century-inspired solid wood base and knobs exclusively for the Grove collection.
