Comments: The first unit we had delivered was badly damaged but R&B ordered a new unit immediately and we used the damaged unit until the new one arrived. The second unit arrived in perfect condition and looks great. Plenty of room for all of our components and a Logitech Harmony remote with media hub allows us to control everything with the doors shut. Seems durable so far but the wood gets very warm above the area where the components are stored, I am hoping this wont have a detrimental effect on the wood long term.

Comments: I purchased this unit for our basement living space. I liked it for two reasons: it is long enough to hold a large TV, and it has metal legs (the basement has a history of water). The piece is pretty, with clean lines. The walnut finish is beautiful. It's a solid, heavy piece, but I am concerned about the legs. They are very thin and have bent slightly after being moved forward and back on a carpeted surface. I asked the delivery person about the legs, and he checked them out, gave the unit a good shake, and everything was very stable. It's a new design, so he couldn't comment on the durability, but he was confident that the legs are strong and are appropriately supporting the unit. We have had no problems so far, about a month in. The doors are sticky, but I was told this will improve with time and use.

Comments: Clean lines, wonderful construction. Hides all our DVDs and media components. Perfect fit for the space at 96 in long. The maple is a pretty pale color without the usual yellow undertones that maple can have.

Comments: Being a woodworker i really appreciate the craftsmanship that went into the design and construction of this piece. The sliding panels are beautifully bookmatched w/ tight grain that fit perfectly and slide on UHMW plastic sliders for zero minimal resistance when opening/closing. The hull of the cabinet itself is slightly lower grade edge joined walnut, but still very beautiful.
My wife and I covered a couple shelves with a thick plastic drawer liner from ikea and use it to store shoes (we let the shoes air out before storage to avoid moisture issues). Our 12-month old son hasn't yet figured out how to open the sliders and throw around the shoes which is great. The holes cut in the back offer great wire management access.
My biggest complaint is there is a burn mark on the top, which might be from a cigarette. I'm guessing this happened in some storage/shipping facility because it's under the wax; seeing it would probably make the original craftsman cringe. It's very small and only slightly noticeable, so hardly worth replacing the whole unit because of it.
The unit has a flat finish w/ a coat of wax. The wood on the panels was a little dry when we received it however applying a new coat of wax was very simple and the wax odor dissipated quickly.

Comments: We are using this in our living room. We love the design and color. It get so many comments form friends because of it's unique design. The stainless legs and hardware are a great match to our staircase. The only suggestion for improvement would be for tighter seams on the corners.

Comments: This piece is modern and sleek, which works well with our living room large open floor plan with wood floors. I liked the length and the sleek sliding doors, however for the price I expected higher quality from Room & Board. We had to get a 2nd one delivered because the first one had odd patterns on the wood that made it look like cheap veneer wood floor pattern plastered on the sliding door. Also there was a small crack on the side, which makes me wonder how durable this furniture is in the long run. The 2nd piece delivered to us looked more like the picture with a solid wood finish, but there was also a tiny noticeable crack on the side where two pieces of wood connected. I think this product is just lacking finesse in the finish. For example the back board had screws that were not evenly screwed in and it was even missing one screw in the back. The R&B employees who installed it said sometimes the factory just miss these details.
Overall it is a beautiful piece from a far, but I recommend double checking your furniture carefully when it is delivered. For the price, I expected it to be close to flawless! Just tiny mistakes like missing screws and backboard not lined up correctly is a bit irksome.

Comments: Very happy with the piece. Love the scale and that it is low to the floor and the legs minimal so it appears to be hanging off the wall.

Material Description: Maple is a durable, timeless hardwood. Even after maple is harvested and made into furniture, it continues to be a living, breathing material that responds to its environment - it expands and contracts with changes in humidity and may change color over time as it's exposed to air, sunlight and wear. Our maple with charcoal stain features a hand-applied stain that was designed to easily mix with other woods and materials.
Material Description: Our stainless steel is domestically sourced from 60% recycled material. It is highly resistant to corrosion and has a brushed texture to ensure wear marks will blend in over time.
