Comments: We love this chair. We were looking for a recliner that was comfortable and operated smoothly but that was also attractive. Most options are overly large and bulky, but the Westport is plenty large in the seat and length, but the arm design ensure that it stays sleek. The reclining depth is also great. We live in a renovated Cape Cod, so our rooms are smaller than new homes. Since it's leather, the seat has stretched, but we knew that was unavoidable.

Comments: I cannot say enough good things about the Elmo leather this chair is stocked in! Soft, scratch-resistant, cat toenail scratches rub right out, gorgeous walnut arms and you can't tell it is even a recliner unless it is in the recline position. Wonderful lumbar back support. LOVE this Chair!!!

Comments: We ordered this for my "dad chair" for lounging and watching TV. We liked this chair for its ability to fit in a small space since it needed to be close to a wall. Beautiful chair, very comfortable leather, and after a few weeks the cats haven't put a single mark on it.
The only issue to be aware is that, obviously, the arms are not cushioned, and this takes away a small amount from the lounging comfort of the chair.

Comments: It is very comfortable and even in the recline position it is ergonomically correct for my spine.

Comments: The Westport is seemingly the only currently-available non-custom option for a recliner that doesn't look like a recliner. Form and function are a compromise, but this chair gets it right. I searched in vain for a recliner that fit both in size and appearance into my contemporary semi-Scandinavian living room until I found the Westport. It takes up very little space and is impossible to identify as a recliner when upright. Combined with its sleek lines and beautiful materials, that makes it an excellent dual-duty piece for a living room in which to host company by day and a family room to read or watch TV in by night. The seat is comfortable in any position including good lumbar support, although some may prefer to add a small pillow for more. The build is rock-solid and the reclining mechanism is crisp and tight.
I see two compromises in function, both of them necessary and forgivable: (1) the arms are hard, which is fine and not uncomfortable in the upright position, but when fully reclined only my hands and wrists can reach the arms, leaving nothing to support either my elbows or a pillow; and (2) the leather is uncommonly supple, which is outstanding to feel and beautiful to see, but given that a recliner is likely to see frequent use, I'm concerned with long-term durability. But that may turn out to be a non-issue, and in five months I see no signs of wear, except for the unavoidable and acceptable stretching where I sit.
Overall, the Westport is a rare beauty that fills a gaping void in the mass-market, and one of the few pieces this expensive for which I think the price is justified. Highly recommended.

Comments: Like many have noted, this recliner is unassuming, supremely comfortable, and fits in smaller spaces. No one can tell it's a recliner. It's my go-to reading chair. And I couldn't any other recliner, from R&B or otherwise, that would fit through my 29" living room door.
Plus it's a beauty. This one was in a discontinued fabric, Cambridge Natural, Show-stopping looks.

Comments: The leather is incredibly soft, and the design works well in our mid century ranch. The recliner functions smoothly and without a lever. Beautif!

Comments: I bought this recliner for my husband's birthday (after he tried one out at the Seattle Room and Board Showroom). It fits his frame very well (5'10") and he loves the leather, the frame (walnut), and how comfortable it is for him.

Comments: I furnished my house at R&B, and have always appreciated the quality and service. Not this time. I ordered the Westport in Dayne Otter.
The walnut was much lighter than pictured, so much so that I thought they'd delivered the wrong piece.
As for the upholstery, when upright, there's a big gap between the footrest and the body of the chair, which makes it look shoddy.
Despite the poor quality, because it was a "custom" piece there's a 30% hit if return it. Very disappointed.
Inspired by Danish recliners popular in the 1950s and '60s, Westport features modern updates like comfortable cushions and a smooth reclining mechanism. The angular frame, tailored in soft leather, contrasts beautifully with a solid walnut base.
Leather Description: Urbino's consistent color allows its plump, pebbled grain pattern to become its prominent feature. Tumbled for long periods of time to achieve an exceptionally soft feel, this stain and scratch resistant leather maintains its even, low-shine look over time.

Made to the same high standards as all of our furniture, each one of our upholstery frames is built to last.
Kiln-dried, engineered hardwood
We use kiln-dried, engineered hardwood in all of our upholstery frames. Often used for structural beams, engineered
hardwood is made by pressing thin layers of solid wood together. Kiln-drying removes moisture, minimizing seasonal
expansion and contraction. This stable hardwood material resists warping and cracking for lasting durability.
We reinforce every joint in our frames for added stability. Precision-cut parts interlock like puzzle pieces and are
reinforced with eco-friendly glues, screws or staples and corner blocks. Reinforced joinery ensures your seating holds together,
even with years of frequent use.
A webbing suspension is made by interweaving strips of nylon material to create a resilient platform. The
elasticized webbing is securely attached to the wood frame with staples. Webbing suspensions are ideal for
thin-profile styles that require maximum support in minimal space.
