In the early 1940s, the husband-and-wife design team of Charles and Ray Eames embarked on a nearly five-decades-long career that changed the way that ordinary people lived with extraordinary design.
The pair were passionate about designs of remarkable quality that could be easily and cheaply produced by machines—whether lounge chairs, textiles or housing. Critics praised their work. Their experiments in wood molding led to a 1942 commission from the U.S. Navy and later, cutting-edge furniture for the masses. In 1985, the Industrial Designers Society of America named their firm "Most Influential Designer of the 20th Century."
We embrace the pair's philosophy that good design must be practical, functional and easy to live with, and always consider that when creating our home furnishings. You'll find that Eames furniture is still the height of innovation. Because of this, we proudly offer their designs and think that they live as well today as when they were introduced in the mid-20th-century.
