Often simple things inspire my designs. I've found design ideas in everyday items like kitchen utensils and camping equipment. Great ideas can come from very humble objects.
I'm always inspired by nature. The light of the sun looks different as it rises from when it sets. And I notice the light in everything I look at, from walls to open spaces.

I want to create ideas that are fresh and unlike anything else out there. It has to be something really special if we're going to produce it. We strive to eliminate traditional modes of construction in favor of innovative designs, materials and manufacturing.
And I always try to consider the setting around a piece as much as the piece itself. It's more about the light and less about the lamp—though creating a beautiful, honest design is important. We want our pieces to add to the landscape. |

Our lighting has a quietness about its design. It adds to the overall feeling of a space, without dominating it. The designs are simple, but with meaning. I don't believe that lighting is simply a matter of on or off.

Room & Board shares our commitment to offering great design value and standing behind it. We both believe in the importance of providing customers with products that are a cut above what has preceded it. This is a value we can comfortably live with day in and day out.

Lighting is one of the most universal aspects of design. Its presence or absence can define a space. Changing lighting is the easiest way to control and transform an environment. For an example of lighting's power to create a mood, just think about your favorite restaurants. Lighting plays a huge role in making a room feel intimate, lively, calm or energized.
