Wood Castle
Drawer inside view Calvin office armoire

History

In business for 28 years, Wood Castle is one of the last remaining furniture makers in Oregon. The family who owns Wood Castle has roots that go back several generations to master woodcrafters in Norway. They brought their skills and appreciation for the best natural materials to America. Wood Castle is now a company with 65 employees, but their commitment to creating heirloom-quality pieces has never wavered.

Craftsmanship

Wood Castle creates our Calvin collection from solid Pacific Coast maple. This wood is known as one of the strongest and most stable of hardwoods. A combination of specialized machinery and hand craftsmanship creates large-scale furniture from this wood. Much less susceptible to humidity and with a deep, rich color, Pacific Coast maple creates furniture of exceptional quality.

Responsibility

Long committed to environmental sustainability, Wood Castle harvests its trees within a 75-mile radius of their facility, eliminating the negative impact of transporting logs across the country. The forest, owned by the state of Oregon, is one of the most carefully managed in the world. For every tree that is harvested, three trees are planted within five years, to ensure a healthy future for both the company and the environment.
