Murray
Description
The first thing you’ll notice about the Murray sofa is its crisp mid-century styling. The tall, tapered legs and box cushions are inspired by vintage designs, but the small scale and supportive, upright sit make it a great choice for today's home.

Customer comments about Murray 82" Three-Cushion Sofa:
About a year ago we bought Murray, the long one. He's beautiful in a teal-turqoise velvet and comfortable to sit on. The three seat cushions look like I unprofessionally covered them.
The piping on the arms (or seams) are already uneven. The cushion covers are baggy and are not staying put on the cushion. The material is off-kilter from the square of the pillow. It looks horrible...something I'd expect from a cheap store not R&B.
In the Oak Brook store we saw the quality of the floor sample...which was excellent. We bought a floor sample of the Amos chair...still in excellent condition as it should be. It's tight and firm. Clearly the floor samples are given better quality control.
Took two photos, hope the upload works.

Customer comments about Murray 72" Two-Cushion Sofa:
Great couch. Was looking for a modern, small couch with straight lines and a low profile. This fits all of those requirements, looks great, and is quite comfortable.
Don't be put off by the Teal color. Looked quite bright green/blue on the showroom, but with natural light or softer light appears much more muted in the apartment.

Customer comments about Murray 82" Three-Cushion Sofa:
While we still love the style, the back cushions do lose their shape (you can prop them up fine), and the seating cushions are uneven because I sit on one end of the couch and my hubby-to-be sits on the other...and we weigh differently.
This means that one side sinks more than the other one. This is the hugest con. We are calling to see what can be done for it. This couch is about 2 months old.
I would recommend getting a R/B couch, but not this "lower end" one because of the cushion issue.

Customer comments about Murray 72" Two-Cushion Sofa:
I have owned the Murray sofa for over 2 years now and generally I really like it. The size and shape are perfect for my small apartment (500 sq ft) and my midcentury/modern aesthetic. The sofa is extremely comfortable (I ordered the Vessel fabric, which is more of a microfiber-type feel compared to the stock fabric), light enough to be moved easily, and the tapered wood legs add a nice midcentury finish.
But the only complaint I have about this sofa echoes other reviews - the cushions have lost shape. The seat back cushions in particular. Because I like my sofa to look tidy, I have to flip the cushions every other day or so. I have even gone so far as to remove the padding from the inside, flip it over, and re-insert it, but that has not really solved the problem either. When I flip the cushions, they look fine, and then begin to sag even during a short period of casual use.
While I can see the appeal of the "worn" aesthetic, in my opinion the shape and style of the sofa lends itself to a more crisp look. So the shapeless cushions end up looking more frumpy than "lived-in".
However, bottom line is that I would recommend this sofa to a friend looking for affordable, well-made seating suitable for small spaces. Room & Board also offers the sort of customer service experience that most other furniture retailers cannot match.

Customer comments about Murray 82" Three-Cushion Sofa:
We've had this couch and the matching single chair in the light green/beige color for two years. We still like it and it still looks pretty new. We lounge on this couch for hours daily. My tall husband and our little dog are usually laying across the legnth of the couch for the majority of the time. The arm rests are not comfortable on their own, but a couple pillows propped against them work just fine. Also, the back cushions can come off to make more room to cuddle or for guest sleepovers.
The back cushions are definitely the most challenging part of this couch. They are comfortable, but they squish down too easily after resting on them. I have to flip the back cushions daily or every other day to remedy this problem. The bottom cushions must get flipped weekly or the entire couch will look very drab. Other than the cushions, I have noticed the minor detail of small threads poking through where legs rub against the cushions or bottom of the couch. I've had to cut the threads off several times now to prevent the couch from looking too worn.
The couch is very easy to clean. I've gotten frosting, coffee, sauce, etc. on the couch and a white cloth and some upholstery stain remover does the trick. I also vacuum the entire couch to remove dust twice a year. I really notice a difference in the brightness of the coach after I do the vacuuming. We were also told we should have the couch professionally cleaned every 1-2 years. We have not done that yet, but hope to soon.
Overall, we plan to have this couch for along time to come. It works for us.

Customer comments about Murray 72" Two-Cushion Sofa:
Great stock color, arrived quickly. Great simple design, construction and value. Delivery was on time and very professional, loved the entire shopping experience and very happy with the sofa. The 2 minor complaints are seeing the bottom very light color of the couch under the cushions when seated, and I also worry that the back cushions may not hold their shape in the long run, hope I'm wrong about that.

Customer comments about Murray 82" Three-Cushion Sofa:
I have two cats and ordered this couch in the stock fabric hoping it would hold up well; but, know that it may not last. I've had it for a few months and so far so good! The fabric color works as a great neutral surprisingly and the texture hides any minor nicks that may accidentally happen. Cushions require frequent turning to keep shape; but, other than that no complaints! Great value and a great look.

Customer comments about Murray 82" Three-Cushion Sofa:
After one year of use, this couch looks about 20 years old. It is extremely saggy and anyone who sits on it rolls towards the middle. The couch cushions are always flat even after plumping and turning. Poorly made couch. Never again.

It looks great, but seriously it is hard as a rock. Not for lying on. Also the arms aren't high enough to lean. So great for sitting up, but not for lounging at all. . .

Customer comments about Murray 82" Three-Cushion Sofa:
When bought the left arm chaise. Once in our apt. this sofa looked very poorly constructed. The chaise has a long curve in it and just looks very cheap. The smell from either the plastic wrapping or the fabric itself after 3 days now.. still very strong and is giving me a headache. The back cushions are not comfortable. For a [$] price tag we do feel that this sofa is/will be a good value. It clearly will not hold up for very long. I don't want it to be one year from now and I'm thinking, how old this this looks. We are returning ASAP!
