I was stunned to discover, after it arrived in my home, that this cabinet is not all solid wood. Yes, I saw in the store but it never occured to me to thump the back from the inside. The back is made of paper-thin plywood with a walnut veneer! I am keeping this cabinet because it is already here and it looks good, but I am no longer the Room and Board fan I once was.

This is a great piece to help display pretty pieces and to store a lot of dishes. The only drawback is that the overall black finish makes the piece dark. It would be great if it had some ability to light the shelf areas. I love the solid sound when you close the glass doors. Great piece!
