Designed by Yves Behar, the SAYL® work chair was inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge. The concept of a suspension bridge tower was used to support the frameless back while molding support directly into the material. This chair delivers the most comfort with the least materials—all with an extremely small environmental impact.

I loved the SAYL chair as soon as I saw it, and it was comfortable to sit in - in the store. After a week or so, I realized I wasn't quite so comfortable. The problem is... ME. I'm a bigger guy, and the depth of the seat on the SAYL chair is as stocked is just not quite deep enough for me. Despite what the attached booklet from Herman Miller says, the depth is NOT adjustable on this version.
I stopped back at the Skokie, IL store and worked with a designer to special order a SAYL chair from Herman Miller that includes depth adjustment on the seat. Yeah, it cost more money than the original, but it works PERFECTLY. I couldn't be happier, and I kept the original until my special order arrived.

This is BAR NONE the best office chair I have ever had the pleasure of owning. It looks STUNNING, is compact and does not look office chair fugly, the sail like back dissapears into the background so that your space does not get bogged down by a slabby back, while providing SUPERIOR support for my back.
It is firm, controls are accurate, height adjustments, tilt, all good. Love the adjustable arm-rest height.
I simply cannot cannot recommend this enough. I got the chair version in gray on black. Perfect! And very fast shipping, well packaged too.

Incredibly comfortable office chair--very supportive, easy to adjust, beautifully designed and cool-looking. I've been using it for at least 10-12 hours a day every day and it's great. Nicely complements my minimalist home office. We love that its design is an homage to our new city's most iconic bridge.
