I love this rug because it is a beautiful, classic, simple design. The colors are beautiful, slightly muted beige/browns, blue, peach, and greens. I know when I get around to changing my couch, it will still go with pretty much any color couch I'm likely to get. Previously I had an R&B looped wool rug which is a little thicker than this one. But this design is softer underfoot; more like a regular carpet, as it features cut and not looped wool weave. I highly recommend a rug pad underneath to prevent the rug from slipping on hardwood or tile. A rug pad also gives it just a little more thickness and plushness underfoot to add to our enjoyment of this beautiful piece. It makes our room.

I used to really love the way light colored rugs look, but all of mine have become dingy and gross over time. After spending ages shopping around for a dark rug, I decided on this one. I dragged my feet for a while because of the price, but I've never once regretted my decision. I love this rug. It has withdstood dirty shoes, a cat, and 3 (3!) glasses of spilled red wine. It still looks fantastic. All the while, it exudes a nice, high-end look. It's well made and it's evident. This rug is a winner.

Altho we expected chair and table legs to cause indentations - what occurred was total flattening in those areas that cannot be revived. We are not heavy people and sit at our dining table 2x/day for no more than an hour. This is unacceptable in a rug this expensive. Also, rug began fraying in first month. Its now 3 yrs. and the rug looks much older. Complaints were made but no response from customer service.

We really liked this rug. It's afordable for what you get and we haven't found another rug (despite a lot of searching) that we like better. It really pulled together our living room. I'd say our style is a more "cleaned up traditional" meets modern touches. The rug works great with either traditional furniture or with more modern furniture. The only thing to be aware of is that it has a "dark side" and a "light side." We loved the colors from the dark side but it can sometimes look a little washed out from the light side. It's not a defect, but rather a natural side effect for this kind of weaving/rug.

This rug is a perfect bridge to blend MCM, Modern, Vintage and Traditional furnishings. WE use this in our Living Room with a Leather Bacall Chair and Ottoman, Dean Sofa and Chair, a MCM Roll top teak desk, and various lamps from Room and Board, Philippe Stark, and both new and vintage accessories. The design is very traditional, but has a modern simplicity which allows it to "hang" with a myriad of styles, or help to modernize a very traditional space, with its clean lines and subtle colorings.

This rug has so many positives, lest I forget...it does NOT shed like a cheap "hand tufted" rug. This is one of my favorite attributes of this hand WOVEN rug....all that shedding makes me crazy!

Lastly, this rug is worth every penny. Why buy and buy again? Just buy one and be happy forever!

Our contemporary styled "great room" was getting a little too "cold". We needed something to ground and layer the space, and this rug worked out great! My husband loves it as well. I looked forever. It was hard to make such a large purchase on line sight unseen, but I'm glad I did. For me it's not too thick and not too thin. I love the way it feels on my bare feet. It's pretty new. I hope that it holds up to the kids, dog, christmas tree, wine, cookies and all the other wonderful things life has to offer.

I'm happy with the purchase. The hard to vacuum comment is because the vacuum doesn't stay in straight lines -- it gets pulled in different directions by the rug.
