Customer comments about Steel Frame 8x10 Off-Center:

I have three of these frames. Got one four years ago and two just today. All the same, excellent quality (in response to a couple of the comments on here). Sure they come with a plastic covering you have to peel off and it's not that easy, but 30 minutes? It took me about 3 minutes per frame. Need a little nail polish remover or goof off to clean up the edges. They couldn't cut this like they do without it and it protects the frames as well. I LOVE these frames. Sure, they're a little expensive but they look unreal. Have about 7 or 8 room and board frames throughout the house and will be getting more in the near future!

Customer comments about Steel Frame 11x14 Off-Center:

I was looking for the perfect frame to display a picture of my two dogs and at the same time hide the unsightly electrical box. This frame is hollow on the back so the idea seemed like it would be perfect for my project. It arrived very well protected with a cover. Even though some commented that the laser which cut the opening would leave a black burn on the stainless steel and was difficult to remove, I used a little Goo Gone and it was gone very easily. The frame hangs with absolutely zero flaws. Putting the picture in the display opening couldn't have been easier. And hanging it was also very simple. The space from the back of the frame inside to the wall is just under 3/8". I was able to move the electrical box a little bit back in order to accommodate the space behind the frame in order to keep the edges flush with the wall. Once it was up...perfection. My only gripe with it is that it's definitely very expensive...but with the result, well worth it.

Customer comments about Steel Frame 8x10 Off-Center:

I saw these at Room and Board and I really loved them. I wanted something off-center. I could not find anything else like them, so although they were more expensive than I should have spent, I decided to get them. (Note: they are metal so probably not a bad deal, it's just that I'm trying to stick to a budget and all of these things add up!).

I bought three for my condo, 2 off center and 1 centered that are hanging all together. They look fantastic!

Two things I wish I'd known before I purchased:

      1) To protect them they come with a stick plastic with a black back (at least 2 out of the 3 did). When they cut the metal out for the space for the photo, the laser melts the black plastic to the metal. It took a couple of cleanings with "Goo Gone" to get them clean.

      2) Because the the glass and photos slide in, you can only hand these on 3 of 4 sides (because if you hung it on the other side, the glass and photo would fall out). This limits one of the options of how the off-centered photo could be positioned (I had to change the original design of how I was going to hang these.)

Customer comments about Steel Frame 8x10 Centered:

I purchased this frame about 6 months ago and when it arrived the glass was broken in all three frames I ordered. Room and board QUICKLY fixed the problem sending me replacement glass. However I think subsequently they may have switched vendors? This time the plastic seal on the steel frame was impossible to remove.. Once removed it left a black residue from the adhesive all around the edges. It took me two hours (per frame!) to get it off and they only thing that worked was nail polish remove and gently scraping with a flat screwdriver. In contrast before the seal peeled off easily leaving no trace. I would not order these frames again unless this is fixed.

Customer comments about Steel Frame 8x10 Centered:

After admiring the frames at my local Room and Board as well as the online photos, I was sorely disappointed the moment it came to unwrapping the stubborn plastic "protective" film. Not only did it take at least 30 minutes per frame to carefully peel, the frames were still slightly scratched. One of them had a line all the way across the frame. They also were very difficult to hang accurately.

Customer comments about Steel Frame 8x10 Centered:

I purchased three of these frames (with the off-set glass) for some mid-century prints that I bought for our dining room. First, it took me at least 30-minutes (per frame) to take off the protective coat. I noticed a scratch on one frame deep enough that I could feel it. Although the tones of the stainless did not match (one was different) and there were other various imperfections, I decided to try to make it work and called to get the scratched frame replaced. The replacement arrived and was also scratched. Also, I'd had a chance to notice that the frames would often shift on the wall because the weight is on one side. Lastly, they are very prone to finger prints (more than stainless appliances).

On the back of the frame there are two picture hinge set in from the edges so that none of the hardware shows when it is hung. The hinges are such that the frame can be hung horizontally or vertically with a standard picture hooks. Hopefully, this answers your question.
