I purchased this pillow as an accent for a living room sofa. I have a patchwork cowhide area rug in the room and wanted to tie the sofa and rug together somehow. The pillow pictured on the website is visually interesting and has a smattering of color that makes it easy to determine the pillow is cowhide.
However, each of these pieces is unique, and the pillow I received when ordering online was monochromatic -- white cowhide only, no brown, so it didn't achieve the desired effect. Perhaps if I had selected my pillow from a store and could choose the coloring I liked, I would have been more satisfied. I have returned the pillow and gone with something from another retailer.

I use this as decoration on my slate-colored couch. It helps to give my mostly solid, neutral-colored living area a bit of interest. I went to the store to purchase first, but the only one they had in stock looked a bit worn, so I ordered it online instead and am very happy.
