We placed it at the foot of the bed. Sit on to tie shoes, put the divet on it at night. Much harder to scratch than we thought.

We bought 2 of these benches to go with our Andover 60 sq dining table and then we matched up 4 contemporary chrome & white leather chairs (photo attached). We use the benches everyday as do we use the dining table for both fromal and everyday dining. The benches are the perfect height for the table and add to the modern look of the table. The only thing that isn't so great, and I also mentioned this about the table is that they mark and scratch extremely easily. Almost causing an indentation in the wood. The wood seems to be very soft.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
