Customer comments about Room & Board Andover 60x38 Extension Table with One-18w Leaf:

I live in a 3 story townhouse. The main floor is kitchen/dining/living room. I previously had an oval table in the space, and it wasn't functional at all. Since most of my side tables are parsons style and metal with glass, I went in looking for that similar style. [@], the sales person, talked me into the wood, in the same styling with clean parsons lines. Am I glad he didn! It's perfect in the small space, there is a leaf to add 18 more inches, and the walnut could not be more beautiful! It works as a work space everyday, then for a few guests as is. When the extended family comes over, it is 78" and seats 8. Love this table!!!!!

I permanently stained the table top using only a soft lint free cloth to wipe the table!!! How can that happen? Now I have to refinish the table top because it looks terrible under any light.

Customer comments about Andover 78x38 Extension Table:

I love this table. I used to have the Parson Table with French Limestone top. I love the wood finish - very solid, sturdy and beautiful. I've gotten lots of compliments from my friends. However, I've noticed that oil or grease stains are a bit difficult to clean. I've been using warm water with soft cloth to clean. Should I be using something else?
Also, one of my guests accidentally scratched the top by dragging a mug without using a coaster. Is there any way I can fix this?
      Thanks!!

      Service and delivery comments:

Delivery and set up was impeccable as always for Room and Board. Always on time and very polite and curtious staff! The best delivery staff by far!!! They were mindful that my 1 1/2 year old daughter was sleeping and they were very quiet.

Was given a date when to expect, called the night before and the table was delivered on time by friendly, knowledgeable men. Could not have been better.
Had such a good experience I returned to the store and bought a sofa bed. Waiting for that delivery.

What a beauty! Gorgeous finish! and high quality. Love this table. Of course, it requires careful care as it is a natural wood. Just put a runner and placemats and make sure that your drinks have coasters. It is worth it!

BTW, R&B delivery guys are great. They even helped to move my old table.

Customer comments about Room & Board Andover 60x38 Extension Table with One-18w Leaf:

This is going to be the "everything table" in our small house (meals, homework, etc). With two young children we wanted to replace our bar height table wi†h something lower. The Andover has a beautiful finish and we like that the legs come all the way out to the corners; maximizes seating space and prevents little people from banging their heads on corners. So far it's been easy to wipe off sticky finger prints. I expect it will get some scratches over the years but since it's solid wood we can always have it refinished. Worth the money for us because it will be the hub of our daily life.

Customer comments about Andover 78x38 Extension Table:

I was replacing a pine farm style table (actually wish now that I kept it, but it was too long for my space). Loved the clean contemporary look of this extension table & was told it would be very durable with the lacquer finish - I had hoped I would not have to use a coaster or placemat every time I set something down. I am so disappointed with the quality of the finish as it marks & dents very easily. In fact, from the start you could see tons of surface scratches when the sunlight was illuminating the table - Supposedly all the tables had these. I only wish these reviews were posted when I purchased my table 2 years ago.

Customer comments about Andover 78x38 Extension Table:

This table has finish problems. Under good care and normal use (kitchen), the finish started peeling. After several frustrating calls to R&B, they replaced it. Less than a year later, under extremely delicate care, the table's finish is showing issues again.

Others comments about the wood being susceptible to dents and knicks is also true. I can take resposibility for that kind of wear. My gripe is that the finish should not be peeling off on the side of the table that is barely used! To me, that indicates a problem with the manufacturing/finishing process.

Customer comments about Andover 78x38 Extension Table:

We've also had this table for a couple of years and we have 2 small children. Our table is showing considerable wear and the finish is cracking, peeling, warping & splitting along what I assume are where the maple boards are lamintated together. I just got off the phone with customer service but I wish I had read these reviews first because the Rep was obviously trying to steer it towards this being our own fault (not cleaning up spills etc) instead of this being a poorly finished table. It's too bad...I love the look, love the extension leaf, and also expected this to be our forever table. We live in Maine too..not only was this an expensive purchase for us but the shipping was expensive too.
