Love, love, love. I've put some serious miles on this sofa in the three months I've had it - it's the place I sit every evening and my 80-pound lab seems to think it's hers.
You can really tell how well it's made. I vaccuum and rotate the cushions every weekend just because they're soft and conform to your (your dog's) body. But I don't mind that at all. The fabric I selected is the View Grey - and I'm so happy with it. It's a lovely dove grey and the softest fabric I've ever felt on a sofa.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was wonderful. Guys were fast and nice, far superior to my experience with another furniture store's delivery service, which I was trying to schedule/deal with at the same time.

I purchased my first Hawthorne a year and a half ago and then the second one a few months ago. The sofa; cushions, fabric and structure has held up extremely well to two boys, a Labradoodle and my 6'3" husband. The lower arms make lying down very comfortable and the T cushions are great for stretching out and extra seat room. My sister bought the Hawthorne after she saw how comfortable and well built my sofa was even with excessive use.
The sofas are in my older Colonial style home that has a typical space challenged living room. The 71" Hawthorne is a perfect complement of great size and an updated contemporary yet traditional style.

Service and delivery comments:

Absolutely the best furniture delivery service! Room and Board call days in advance to give a small delivery window, which doesn't tie up your whole day. The delivery men were efficient, friendly and very tolerant of my Labradoodle.

My family and I are extremely happy with our new Hawthorne Sofa. We previously had a competitor's sofa for 1-1/2 years, and it was a big disappointment. It didn't hold up, lost its shape, and wasn't comfortable. The Hawthorne sofa is beautiful, with clean contemporary lines, the sit is extremely comfortable (seat is not too deep and not too shallow), the fabric is soft, elegant looking, and durable (easy to clean). We are now loyal Room & Board customers, and are so glad the new store opened up in Seattle.

The two cushions have too much space between them and things fall in between them constantly (like the TV remote). Also, when sitting, the cushions lean to the end you are sitting on and everything on the couch comes your way. But, it is a very pretty design.

We bought this sofa for our nursery sight unseen, as our local Room and Board no longer had it on the floor. We absolutely love it. We bought it to both sit on and for guests to sleep on and guests already report that it is very comfortable.

It's still new, so can't speak to the cushions holding their shape, but so far so good. We're thrilled with the purchase.

I fell in love with this sofa when I first purchased it two years ago. I bought it in the Doss Bone. At the time my son was 2 and I was worried about cleaning it. However, I have gotten all kinds of things off of it including blue ink marks and grape jelly. What has disappointed me has been the back cushions. They have sagged over time to the point where it doesn't even look like the same sofa anymore. If I could return it I would. We do use it daily and have not been overly harsh on the sofa. The cushions started loosing their shape within 4 months of my having made the purchase. I would say this is a pretty sofa but if you plan on using it daily it may not be the one for you.

I confess it took me four visits to room and board, sitting in every couch multiple times, pondering, meditating and generally fussing around - until I decided I was in love. With this couch. I may be crazy, because I have two dogs and a cat and the color is this lovely pale oyster. But the versitility of the color and the style of the actual couch made it irresistable to a person who likes to change direction in my decor often. BTW - Room and Board is professional, knowledgable and totally a breeze to buy from. Loved the whole experience.
