Customer comments about Room & Board Queen Firm Innerspring Mattress with Bio Cotton:
We use this mattress as our primary bed. We have not had it long yet, so cannot speak to its long-term durability, but it offers the firm support that we were looking for and pairs nicely with our memory-foam mattress topper. For the price, I don't know that you will find a better mattress, especially one that is made in the USA with natural materials.
Service and delivery comments:
Our delivery was on-time with no muss and no fuss. The best part was the level of professionalism that both of the Room & Board employees demonstrated. I received a phone call alerting me that they were on their way, they arrived on time, walked up to my condo to see the route and turns, and safely brought my items in and set them up. Great service!

Customer comments about Room & Board Queen Firm Innerspring Mattress:
By far the best mattress I tried in New York and trust me I have tried many by all the major brands and stores. It's the only truly firm bed I've tried and the least expensive. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Customer comments about Room & Board Full Plush Innerspring Mattress:
We bought this for my 8-year old son's bedroom when we moved into a new house. I know some commenters had stated that it was too firm, but I honestly think it is a great mattress. I don't sleep on it, obviously, but the times that I have laid on it it seems very comfortable and a great mattress for the price.

Customer comments about Room & Board Twin Firm Innerspring Mattress:
We bought the firm mattress along with the pogo bed, trundle and trundle mattress for my second son's room (for nursing/guests since he's still a baby). The bed is nice, but I have to say this is the worst mattress I've ever owned. It's incredibly uncomfortable, very hard and not flexible at all. I get a bad backache whenever I sleep on it. We've tried putting a mattress pad on it, but nothing can hide the fact that it's a terrible mattress. In fact, when me or my husband sleep in the room with the baby, we always choose to sleep on the trundle mattress rather than this one -- yes, it's that uncomfortable! Even guests prefer to sleep on an inflatable mattress rather than this thing.
Unfortunately, by the time we actually started using the mattress after my son was born, a few months had passed since purchase, so doubtful that it can be returned. Next time I will not order a mattress online sight unseen!
Room and Board has fantastic, well made furniture (we have a bunch of pieces from here) that I would recommend -- this is not one of them!

Customer comments about Room & Board Twin Firm Innerspring Mattress:
I purchased the Twin Firm Innerspring Mattress to replace my previous R&B mattress (also firm), which lasted 12 years. Not bad. The new mattress is heavier and feels more "substantial." It's also a lot firmer -- enough so that I had pressure point pain. I ended up replacing the mattress with the plush version. (Five stars for R&B's risk-free policy and customer service. There was no extra delivery charge, either.) The plush version is more like my old R&B firm mattress -- but quite a bit more expensive. So both mattress get four stars for different reasons. Bottom line: I would recommend the plush version unless you like your mattresses "extra firm."
Service and delivery comments:
I received my mattress during the delivery window and in perfect condition. Customer service was helpful/friendly when I decided I wanted to exchange it for the plush version. The second delivery went just as smoothly as the first.

My 10 year old wanted the pillow top but I wasn't willing to spend more. He loves this mattress. Very comfortable -- for adults too.

Customer comments about Room & Board King Firm Innerspring Mattress:
This is our 3rd Room and Board mattress. We bought 2 R&B beds and mattresses for a Chicago condo and loved them so much, when it was time to replace our mattress at home, we bought a R&B mattress for our "sleigh" bed. We love the support and just right firmness. We put it on top of our box spring and discarded the mattress topper that we had bought to make our old mattress last longer. Now our new mattress is much lower. I'm not sure if I like the look. I may purchase the R&B bed board to make it a bit higher.

Customer comments about Room & Board Twin Firm Innerspring Mattress:
We put this in my son's room, his first mattress after a toddler sized bed. He is very comfortable and sleeps well every night. The mattress looks very well made. I purchased this because the product states that it does not use toxic materials in the making of the bed, and it is made in the United States. Also, it does not require a box spring, thereby minimizing waste. Delivery was great, and customer service was fantastic.
I am very happy with this mattress, overall. The only thing I did not like was the mattress has a slight odor for the first week or so, the same which is on many new clothes. This concerns me as I know fabrics are processed with various chemicals to make them stain resistant/ fire retardant/ long wearing, etc. So, in the end I am trusting Room & Board that when they say non-toxic, they mean it. Here is a quote from Restwell(who makees the mattresses) link on the R&B site: "Dedicated to using safe, sustainable, quality materials, Restwell responsibly sources most components from the US, primarily from the Midwest. All of these materials are non-toxic and inherently resistant to flame, so you're not sleeping on chemicals."
The only way it could have gotten a five star rating would have been if it had been made of 100% organic and natural materials, which is, however, out of my budget. Good luck on your mattress hunt!
