I bought this piece in walnut and put a 50inch plasma on it. It's beautiful. It is in my opinion one of the best things Room and Board sells in terms of design, materials, and construction. It's large and needs a good size room to look it's best. Oddly it's not shown in the catalog and you have to search for it on line.
It works with modern, arts and crafts as well as asian furnishings. It's not the most functional media cabinet. There are not pullout drawers, etc. and if you keep a cable box inside you'll have to open the door to use the remote or set up an infra red module on the top. But it's gorgeous, and being fine hardwood will age gracefully. A good piece.

This console adds a very mid-century, high-quality look to my living room in a high-rise condo building. The wood is outstanding quality, and the piece is very solid. I wish the fabric panels were not attached to wood, but were open, to allow air to circulate around the components. And the wire management holes could be a bit bigger. Other than that, though, it's a great piece. It changes the whole look of my room. Another hip, good quality piece from Room and Board.

My husband and I love the Kincaid console. We have it in walnut and it goes perfectly with our aesthetic. We like wood and a more natural style to our furniture and the Kincaid fits in well. it fits all of our audio components and has extra space for storage. We are very happy!

I had been hunting for almost a year to find a piece to fit our family room that has sliding doors and hide all of our components. This piece is perfect. We have a mix of contemporary pieces and antiques in our home, this works well. I really wanted sliding doors because we have 4 kids and I was tired of them slamming the door on our old piece. This piece hides a DISH box,DVD player, wii, and Audio/Video control Box on one side plus remotes. The other side houses DVDs, games and old VHS tapes, and various other video gaming supplies w/ more room to spare. We mounted the Flat screen above the piece on the wall. It looks really lovely. I was concerned about the light color with my chocolate leather coffee table/ ottoman, but it darkened quite a bit over the last 6 months and mixes really well. The pricing was excellent compared to what I found shopping around and it is beautifully constructed.

Media seems to always be changing, and this piece of furniture is adaptable enough to change with it. There are no specific media sizes- Eg. How useful would perfectly dimensioned drawer for your cassette tapes be today??? This piece has room for everything we use it for: Audio and video components, DVD cases, DVD books, Wii, portable DVD player etc.We purchased a solid cherry version, and the wood and the walnut joinery detailing are simply beautiful, and a joy to look at. It doesn't scream "media console" and it fits in perfectly in our home. We have the TV flatscreen mounted on the wall above the console.[...]
