Paired this with the 9' Maui umbrella. It looks great and is sturdy. Using the crank mechanism to raise/lower the umbrella is a smooth process. The finish also seems to be quite good. It is currently weathering an all-out assault from a young Labrador puppy, and still looks fantastic.

This is a great umbrella stand. The extension provides a bit more stability for the larger/heavier umbrellas. I have had this out on my rooftop deck in Chicago and the stand keeps the umbrella still (closed) even during our heavy winds.
