I was going to use this as a bench in a couple of possible locations in my house. But I ended up using it as the coffee table in my living room. It is sooo elegant and well made. It meshes well with my beamed ceilings and 20s oriental deco rug. Who knew? I might end up buying another one, to use for the bench I originally planned.

LOVE THIS PIECE! I am currently in a small apt and this makes for a great cocktail table!! Excited to see where I use it next in the future when I decide to move—keep as a table or use it as a bench if I move to a larger space. There is a reason why pieces like this are still being produced today.

The maple top of this bench is smooth and expertly made. We bought it with the black legs, which go very nicely with dark wood furnishings. It is a truly beautiful piece, with the added benefit of being very practical. (We put the decorative pillows from the bed on it at night when the bed is turned down for sleeping, suitcases on it for packing for travel, clothes laid out for the day, etc.) This is a forever piece, so no worries about the cost; it will be a good value in the end.

I use the product mainly as a coffee table, but may use it from time-to-time as a bench.
Room & Board's service was absolutely great! I ordered the piece over the telephone, and the sales associate was more than helpful in completing the transaction.
To top it off, delivery was unbelievably great! The furniture was delivered right into my home, unpacked, and placed in my living room by the delivery specialist. In addition, the delivery specialist added felt pads on the bottom of the bench in order not to scratch my wood floor. Everything was taken care of for me by Room & Board.

This is a great piece. Well-designed and will last for years. I love that I will be able to use it in my entry way for setting down bags at the end of a busy day, putting on shoes, my child enjoys catching my time to read a book while on this bench. It will work well as a coffee table, or seat when entertaining. When I need a change it will work great as a bench at the end of a bed.

Q:
hi. i plan to use this in my entryway and the wall i plan to place it against is 76" long. would you recommend that i go with the 48" or 60" the 48" seems like it would look a bit small but then again, the 60" a tad big.Asked on 6/11/2013 by dkim from los angeles, ca1 answer

If you are planning on placing anything next to the bench like a coat rack, planter, or other decorative item we would suggest the 48w as this would allow approximately 28" of usable space.
