The locking mechanism on the shaft that extends is not strong. If my four year old applies a little pressure then lock gives and the lamp shrinks. We've managed to avoid this being an issue, but I was a bit concerned that the locking mechanism would be an issue.

Love everything about the lamp, except that when used at the lowest height, shade is out of proportion. However, if you use it at the highest height, it is just fine. I purchased a smaller shade for my particular use.

This lamp is is substantial, sleek and elegant. It generates sufficient light to brighten a dark room. It works well with contemporary furniture in an apartment and is priced reasonably. The switch is well located and it was extremely easy to assemble.

This lamp sits next to my favorite MCM reading chair/ottoman and provides great adjustable reading light for the chair and soft accent lighting (I hate overhead lighting) for the room in combination with other lamps. It was extremely easy to put together and arrived promptly. We are very happy with it overall and feel that it will easily transition if/when we move to a less sleek/modern home.

Initially used in living room, alongside couch for reading light. Adjustable height allows you to bring lamp down to be closer for reading. Had need for main bedroom light so tried there, and works well for that. Since found better light just for reading and that fits living room furniture style better, I kept the Palo lamp in the bedroom

Is this the Palo Floor Lamp in it's Satin Nickel or Polished Nickel finish? Your description only says Nickel where the four materials on Sonneman's site list 4 types with only the above mentioned options in Nickel.Asked on 5/8/2013 by Jere from Clovis, CA1 answer
