Customer comments about Portica 72x36 Dining Table/Desk:
I love the simple design, quality stainless steel, craftmanship and durability of the Custom Portica Stainless Steel table frame (35 inch by 78 inch)
I bought from Room and Board. The simple design exactly matches the stainless steel appliances and modern theme of my kitchen.
Service and delivery comments:
The table was delivered to my home with protective moving blankets to protect the stainless steel finish and the person who delivered it was very helpful and accommodating.

Customer comments about Portica 72x36 Dining Table/Desk:
I searched high and low for a table that looked good, was contemporary, and that would hold up to a young child's abuse, arts and crafts, homework, etc. This table is perfect! It looks great and the surface is so easy to wipe clean. The service from Room and Board was exceptional, from the ordering to the delivery.
Service and delivery comments:
The delivery was prompt, the delivery personnel were very careful and courteous. And the delivery was way earlier than promised!

Table top cleans so easily; damp cloth is all you need. Plus since I purchased the white glass tabletop you'd be very hard pressed to find fingerprints ever!!! Very nice indeed...

Customer comments about Portica 72x36 Dining Table/Desk:
Overall very satisfied. We've had this table for a little under 2 momths now in the white quartz top. It wipes clean very easily which is important for us as we have a 4 year old. Great for eating every day meals on. Looks very nice and clean. My son uses it for arts and crafts as well. So far we've not had a stain to speak of!

Customer comments about Portica 72x36 Dining Table/Desk:
I had originally purchased the frosted glass top with the black steel Parsons base, and while it might have worked in some spaces it looked overpowering in my apartment. Room and Board made it very easy to exchange the base and I'm very pleased with the look of the Portica. It's much lighter looking and echoes the stainless appliances in my open kitchen. The frosted glass is a beautiful serene color and will be a cinch to clean. Two tips: supply the deliverymen with size L disposable un-powdered latex gloves. It makes it very easy for them to handle the glass without adding fingerprints to the frosted underside. If/when fingerprints do appear, Room and Board recommends mineral spirits. Call customer service and follow their directions. I think (hope) it will work well.

Customer comments about Portica 72x36 Dining Table/Desk:
I am a long time customer of Room & Board's and continue to return because I've been very pleased with the furniture/accessories I've purchased and my customer service experience. I own 6 cabinets from their Linear Series, 12 of their stainless steel frames and corresponding wall ledges. I was so excited about ordering the Portica Table that I have considered for some time to serve as a new kitchen table. However, after only 5 weeks, it is showing signs of wear and tear and I really have hardly used it! I remember that I saw scratches on it the first day it arrived! I thought then that the table seemed particularly unforgiving.
I use the drop down desk of one of the Linear Series cabinets as my desk and have for several years. It doesn't show the level of wear and tear that the Portica table does in just 5 weeks.
I am most, most disappointed. It could already be refinished at this very early stage. The finish is not at all durable!
The other issue is that the base doesn't match up exactly with the top. Some sides are flush and some sides are not - as though they are 2 different sizes, or not mounted well? Not at all the quality I am accustomed to from Room & Board.
I called customer service this evening to express my concerns about my new table. Leah was very supportive and we explored several options. While I am very disappointed with the table, I am quite pleased with the customer service! I am not sure what I'll choose to do at this point, but I would definitely not recommend this wood top to others!
