When you turn the light on, it is dim at first... The light gets brighter as you use it.... Wasn't expecting that... Once the light is on for a minute or two, it comes to full brightness.

I looked all over for the right height and suspension. This worked perfectly, and it does it with style. I used a LED bulb (dimmable) -- no issues. When I come home at night, I always admire it. Friends told me to stop talking about it so much...it was getting awkward . No matter, it is a great lamp.

We needed additional lighting in our living room. I placed it next to a recliner that I bought from Room and Board. One is able to move the light up, down, sideways, and the head of the light swivels. The light is moderate in brightness but is adequate for my needs . Very cool design. Small footprint.

It's a beautiful lamp with a cheap dimmer.

On my third lamp. I will give up if this one fails. First lamp, the switch on the dimmer snapped off. Second lamp, the fuse blew on the dimmer.

I would only buy this lamp if you lived near a store and could easily exchange your lamp if it breaks.

We bought 3 lamps from other companies before getting this lamp. The first one could not be assembled because the parts did not fit properly. The second did not work after assembling and was repaired by the store. The lamp stopped working after about a month because the dimmer switch was for an incandesent lamp and the lamp was halogen. Both were made in China. This lamp is made in ITALY and was perfect!

A wonderful lamp, but the light bulb that ships with the product could really have been of higher quality. There is a loud buzzing that occurs whenever the dimmer is engaged, and we have discovered that different light bulbs have different volumes of buzzing. We are still on the search for a light bulb that will give a pleasant auditory as well as visual experience, and woud have been much more satisfied had it just worked well straight out of the box without so many trips to the hardware store.

I love the classic design and small footprint (due to overhead angle of the lamp) however the on/off switch is both poorly designed and poorly constructed. I am now on my THIRD Tolomeo in less than 3 years as the on/off switch on the last two stopped working in less than 12 months - just plain unacceptable for a ~$1k lamp. However I want to note the EXCEPTIONAL customer service provided by R&B to quickly send a replacement.
