Customer comments about Woodwind 72h 32x12 Bookcase:
Solid bookcases. Able to hold heavy books. Nice walnut veneer finish (but with solid wood shelves -- not particle board).
Service and delivery comments:
The delivery took longer than I expected. The dates that they could deliver to my city were limited and we missed the first cycle andhad to wait two additional weeks. There must be a better way to do this.

Customer comments about Woodwind 72h 32x17 Bookcase:
We bought three 72" shelves in cherry for our living room, one with doors. While the shelves are perfectly adequate functionally, they are rather poorly finished. First, the underside of the top, which is clearly visible to anyone less than about 6'6" tall, is veneered but unfinished. Second, there are small gaps at the joints. Third, there appears to be no attempt to match the veneer, even within the same piece. While I don't expect book-matched doors, I do expect them to be approximately the same shade. Likewise, I expect some, but not huge, variation in the grain and finish of the shelves. These pieces are almost entirely veneered composite wood. That's fine, except that, for the price, and especially since they are marketed as pieces that should fit tightly together for a "built-in look," they should be fitted and finished better than they are. Finally, because of their mediocre fit, it's necessary to make a lot of adjustments to the feet to get them to stand reasonably together. But their design makes adjusting the tiny feet incredibly difficult.
Again, the bookcases are fine, but I wouldn't buy them again. I would probably choose a different line (the pieces we have from the Copenhagen line are far superior) or shop elsewhere for the same quality at a lower price.

Customer comments about Woodwind 72h 32x17 Bookcase:
Handsome-looking piece with ample storage for such a small footprint (we ordered a wide walnut bookshelf with cabinets below). Unfortunately, the walnut veneer is VERY thin -- about the thickness of a sheet of paper. Bumps and scratches easily reveal the MDF below the veneer -- so instead of feeling like our money was spent on a piece of furniture for the ages, we feel we got something that will need to be handled with kid gloves. Chose R&B b/c we wanted to buy American, but disappointed that the quality is little different from what's available elsewhere.

Customer comments about Woodwind 72h 32x17 Bookcase:
I now have 5 of the Woodwind Book Cases in my office / library and find them extremely well made, efficient, handsome and so useful.
I LOVE the one shipping charge fee at R & B - - all 3 bookcases on the last purchase were delivered for one charge of $79.
The delivery men are always professional & courteous, and careful with home furnishings as they manuever the cases through tight spaces.

We looked at a lot of bookcases and the ones we chose from Room and Board had the clean lines we were looking for and were definitely the best fit for way we wanted to use them. Solid construction and excellent finish.

Customer comments about Woodwind 72h 32x17 Bookcase:
Overall excited about my new bookcases (got the 32" and 20") but once I unwrapped all the shelves realized the quality wasn't that great. They all had imperfections (surface scratches, deep wood scratches or stain uniformity issues). I put the best of the two sides up and hoping that my books will cover most imperfections. Also don't like that I see all the holes where the shelve screws can go. My last bookcase had plugs to go into them so they were hidden.

Customer comments about Woodwind 72h 32x12 Bookcase:
I purchased three of these shelves to replace some engineered wood shelves that were sagging and falling apart. These are exactly what I needed -- beautiful cherry color that warms over time, solid and durable. Totally worth the price!
