Impressively precise and beautiful joinery and finish. Triple-row design and thick shelves are very sturdy and suitable for a full load of very heavy books. I have two units side-by-side.

The walnut wood option seems notably lighter-colored and more yellowish than shown in online pictures.

However, the easily-adjusted shelf boards are made of dense, cream-colored, fine-cell particleboard or glued-dust-board, left bare on the sides of the shelf (hidden when shelf is in place). That's OK, but only the front edge of the shelves appears to contain any walnut wood -- a thin well-glued strip of finished walnut veneer. The shelf top and bottom surfaces are either an astonishingly thin veneer no thicker than paper, or a pressure-adhesive-applied plastic PICTURE of walnut-finished wood.

This is very unlikely to age well. If it's a plastic picture, it's sure to shrink, crack and peel to reveal the cream-colored core, just like a cheezy old 1970's stereo console. If it's actually a walnut wood veneer no thicker than paper, it's not going to be quite as likely to split and shrink, but it will be equally delicate and impossible to repair.

I'm a bit disappointed with it: I was looking for something more-sensibly finished for long-term use; decades, not just a few years.

On-time, prompt, courteous, jovial, expert, well-informed, careful and flawless in threading these big bookcases through tight quarters, without a scuff or scratch on anything. They then carefully leveled the two to match the old wavy out-of-square walls and floors. These folks are absolutely first-rate!

The shelves are used to organize books and display art work, photos, tchotchkes. Shelving is deep enough to comfortably hold art book and to double shelve paperbacks. No complaints yet.

We wanted a piece that would provide storage for books, display art, pictures, etc., and would look good on its own. This is the piece. It's perfect. The shelves are easy to adjust and hold heavy items easily. It looks great. We use it to store oversize art books, paperbacks, sports memorabilia, art glass, and photos--and it does it well with a great sense of style. My only complaint is that the shelves themselves are not solid wood, but you would never know that just by looking at the assembled piece, and of course the price would be significantly higher if they were. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

These are good, solid bookshelves and having them finished on both sides is great for future room divider options.

The pieces in the showroom may be hand picked because my shelves were not as perfect as what I had seen in the showroom. The finish on some of the shelves was imperfect so they had to be serviced. Additionally, they are described as being great in multiples, but they don't go well together. They have a bit of an odd gap between them even after R&B service worked to get them as straight as possible.

These were suggested by our designer, and we looked hard for an alternative but didn't find much. Although they do the job, especially for our larger books, these dominate our room...and not in a good way. I wouldn't recommend them unless you have large expanses of unbroken wall. And frankly, the depth is a problem. These bookcases swallow all but the largest items.

Although they feel very solid, the construction is just so-so. Exposed glue at the joints needs to be sanded back a bit, and the edges of the shelves are very rough.
