We've been check this bed out for years, we finally purchased a home that would support this bed. If you have low ceilings this bed might not work for you. The delivery was great and the bed looks amazing. The only thing is the guys put the bed together and didn't leave the manual and now we need to take the bed down because we are remodeling.

The tall Architecture king bed was delivered to our new house in early December. We saw it for the first time January 2nd. Against the new golden green walls, WOW! This bed makes a strong statement, but since there is plenty of air space around and under it, the look is elegant but strong and sexy. Doesn't cramp the room. The R&B soft memory foam mattress is at the perfect height to get into and out of bed comfortably.

Customer comments about Architecture King Bed:

I originally purchased the queen size Architecture bed over 10 years ago... I needed a bigger bed, so I bought the king size version as well. I've had so many compliments on BOTH. Fortunately, I have four bedrooms, so it doesn't feel so redundant. However, the bed makes a dramatic statement. It's a timeless piece that will last forever (literally - the bed is indestructible).

A word of caution not a complaint, the bed is very heavy (which should be expected from a steel bed) and it sits high off the floor (a problem for my small dogs). I'm very pleased with the bed, so I plan to hire movers when I relocate & I simply pick up my pets and place them on the bed at night.

I'm not prone to "gushing" in reviews, but I've been pleased with the original bed for over a decade. This is what prompted me to purchase a second Architecture bed. If you're thinking about this bed and looking to these reviews for insight, I think you will be very happy with this product.

We waited almost 3 months for this bed as it was out of stock for so long and we were very excited when the bed finally arrived. However, when the bed was set up there are obvious scratches that are about 1/2 inch wide that run the length of both side rails and other nicks and scratches in several other parts of the bed.

Customer comments about Architecture Full Bed:

I use this as my main bed and I'm very happy with it. It was extremely easy to assemble, which means it will be really easy to take with if if and when I ever need to move. The design is striking. I ended up rearranging my whole room around it because it makes such a statement. But the clean lines mean that even whole it is clearly a piece with presence, it doesn't feel tacky or overdesigned. Extra bonus: I can use the top bars to do pull-ups off of :) It was a great purchase.

Room & Board Bed Frames are designed for use with a mattress only. Adding a box spring would reduce the exposure of the headboard and raise the overall mattress height. The Architecture Bed is available only in the standard dimension, 40w 80d 76h with an under bed clearance of 9.5h. Color options are Natural Steel or powder-coated in White, Yellow, Blossom, Orange, Ocean, Red, Green, Silver and Navy.

None of our beds, including Architecture, require a boxspring. For a perfect look and fit, we advise a mattress in the range of 10-13 inches thick. If you have other questions, please contact any of our Design Associates at 800.301.9720.

Yes, the Architecture bed is a very classic style that can work in many different room designs. The sturdy natural steel and clean lines look great with any bedding and decor. We think it's a great choice you'll enjoy for years to come.

The Architecture King bed headboard and footboard are each 80"h by 78"w and are fully welded pieces. The head and footboards are connected with the top crossbars and lower side-rails at assembly. There are also 12 individual platform slats that would support your mattress.

The top rail on the Architecture bed is part of the design as well as structural. With the height of the headboard & footboard, the top rails help keep the these parts stabilized.

The Architecture bed has 2" square steel tubing. All beds can occasionally squeak as components shift slightly over time, although this is more common with wood beds. Please call us if this problem persists and we can discuss solutions. 800.301.9720

The Architecture bed is welded steel and should be able to hold the extra weight without any worries. However, you may want to consider that adding a box spring will increase your overall height - our beds are designed for the height of a mattress only.

I'm interested in the California King. What is the base of the bed that the mattress sits upon? Wooden slats (do the slats go all the way across or are there two sets that meet in the middle)? Or is it metal cross beams?

The mattress rests on a metal slat system. The slats run the width of the bed and are solid enough that a center support is not needed on the king sizes. We offer an image of the bed frame and slats o n this product page. It is the last image in the series below the main image.

                      Hello

I am shopping for a king size bed. I love the Architecture bed but am concerned that it may overwhelm the room. The bedroom is approximately 12 x 14...not an abundance of space. What are your thoughts on the scale of the bed to the space?

                        A:

The Architecture is large but open and clean lined so it doesn't overwhelm a space. The large scale in a small room can be very successful especially if it is the focus of the space and the room itself isn't crowded with other furniture. The second image on this page gives you a sense for this.

Yes, a box spring could be used but the bed is designed to work with a mattress only so the overall height is likely to be too high. We have two options for the side rail profile and perhaps the 11"h with your mattress set would give you an overall height that would work for you.

The Architecture bed headboard is 80"h and comes in one fully welded piece. The head and footboard connect with the top crossbars at assembly. So, you do want to consider that this is a large piece for delivery.
Delivery to FL is about three weeks.
