I was looking for a bookshelf that would help to organize the mass of books I have, as well as some decor, pictures and magazines. I looked everywhere and when I went to Room & Board, took my time looking at all the bookshelves only to walk up on this one and know immediately it was what I was looking for. Great for a large wall, can be used as a bookshelf only, combo bookshelf/decor/pictures, or could even use in the kitchen to hold dishes and large serve ware if you like the "exposed" look for your kitchen. This piece will be a permanent item in house; it's very versatile and sleek.

We have a large collection of glass and needed more display space. This open design catches the light and the glass is highlighted. We did add a light under some of the shelves.

I eyed this bookshelf for over 2 years before I finally got it, and I'm so glad I did! I was initially hesitant because of the cost, but the construction and finish (I chose walnut with black frame) are top quality. I've had this piece for about 6 months, and every time I look at it, it makes me smile.

The shelves are fixed, but that's not a problem---there's ample room on each shelf, and they are fairly deep.

Delivery guys were right on time, at the very beginning of the 2 hour delivery window, and were professional and courteous.

Overall, a fantastic product and buying experience.

I love these shelves. they really pick up my room and give my mid-century ranch an updated look. I have two sets of the shelves next to each other. one minor problem is that the ends of the shelves don't match exactly I'm trying to figure out what to do about that -- dowel or something.... if you have ideas, let me know

I love this piece...as it needed to be on carpet, I was concerned it might be a bit wobbly, but even without books and weighted items, the unit was very secure in place. Load on 100 pounds of books and stuff and it's like a tank. Plus the design is super cool, contemporary chic!!! A+++

These bookcases are even better than the photos. We absolutely love them. We purchased two in the walnut and stainless steel and I am so happy we did. They arrived pretty quickly and were set up easily by R&B. They make quite a statement in the room and I cannot stop going into the room just to admire them. Well worth the investment.

Love this bookshelf! A couple years ago we had gone to a custom furniture maker and drawn out a design for a bookshelf that we envisioned. Low and behold, we found that Room and Board had the same vision and the Elton bookshelf was it! We've oogled it since then (cuz it's a little pricey) and finally splurged! We purchased it in the Walnut with the Natural Steel finish, beautiful! The shelves are very deep so it's perfect for books, pictures, chotchkies, whatever you got! The only problem I had when arranging it is the hollow space where the beam wraps around the wood. My prior bookshelf was of a similar design and the beams closed off that hollow space, which made it easier to lean things up against the beam. The Elton is completely hollow so there is nothing to lean items up against. Makes it a little tricky when arranging items but I was able to make it work.
