We purchased the stock color Dakota Fog and have been very pleased with our choice. It is a very well made sofa with a firmer seat. It is definitely made for lounging as it's deep and somewhat low. While it is big when all assembled it was no problem for the delivery people to get it up to our apartment using a pretty standard size elevator.

The Holden is perfect in our home. Large formal open concept living room. We have windows with a great View. The Holden is well made, stitching is perfect in the cushions and seating. We visited the room and board store, two hour drive but worth it. We wanted a sectional but classic if you could find that, but the Holden works! It is large enough for the space, classic lines to stay with our style, and classic comfort. Not too stiff, and not too slouchy.. Cushions will stay firm and tight. We choose fog, and have natural colors in our home. Love the style, craftsmanship and height. I can look from the kitchen and take in our view. Fabric has a rich texture, we all love it.

We have quite a bit of Room & Board furniture so when we started the hunt for the perfect sofa/sectional over 4 years ago we started with the Holden. We also considered Townsend and Lucca and sat on most every sofa that Room & Board has at least a dozen times each. And then we went and tried sofas from other furniture makers ranging from $1200 to $12,000.

We brought home a fabric swatch and looked at it in every lighting situation possible. We poured red wine, water, dirt, chocolate and more on it then scrubbed it to death, or at least tried. The fabric still looked new.

So 4 years later, we pulled the trigger. It's hard to spend $4000 on something and not have at least a tinge of buyer's remorse or doubt, but we can honestly say we have not had an iota of doubt or regret.

It fits our space perfectly, we use it for hours every day, our 4 year old and 14 year old love it. The purchase and delivery process couldn't have been better.

Once again, Room & Board does not disappoint!

I searched and searched for the perfect sectional. Finally I realized that only R&B would do in terms of quality, style and service. I went to the store several times on my own and then my roommate and I sat on every single sectional in the store and carefully rated each one in terms of comfort, durability, style etc. Finally we chose the Holden because of the deep and firmer cushions and incredible MCM style. I couldn't wait until the day it arrived. Finally the day came and there the Holden sat in my once empty living room. But when I sat on it I immediately noticed how scratchy the fabric was! I remember wanting to choose a softer fabric in the store but it would have added another TWO THOUSAND dollars onto the already lofty price! And then I noticed that the back cushions were just a few inches SHORTER than I remembered, taking away from that cozy feeling that most couches have when you cuddle into them. And yes, the cushions are still quite stiff but several salespeople have advised me that this will change with time and wear. The bottom line? I SO wish the fabric was softer and I SO wish the couch was cozier. My last couch was lacking in terms of the style I was looking for but it was affordable, incredibly cozy and I could lounge on it for hours reading a book etc. The Holden is more formal than comfortable and I'm sad that I didn't have the patience to keep looking for something softer and cozier. i have yet to cuddle up and read a book on the Holden :(

This couch is super comfy for sitting and lounging. Easy to get up from but very cozy for a nap. The chaise is a great addition that adds more seating space when guests are present and lets 2 people spread out and sit comfortably side by side or gives loads of space for sitting solo. Easy for our 2 year old to climb onto but the fabric has (2 months in) hidden potential stains very well. The stock fabric is great neutral that could be paired with browns or grays equally. Only complaint is that the cushions do require some periodic fluffing to regain original shape.

We looked across the market for a well designed comfortable sofa with value and we believe we found it with the Holden. We have had this for six months and find the cushions to be firm, not hard, and you can tell they will keep their shape for some time. But the design makes the seating adaptable and always comfortable. We use this for overnight guests and naps. For movies or reading the comfort is great. We got the stock color and we find it stylish and neutral enough to match our other modern furniture. Construction is solid, no noise. Comes apart easily and snaps back in place. Delivery was on time, polite and friendly.

Its a keeper.

We ordered this in a custom fabric. Very pleased with it overall. It came faster than we expected (esp as we waited months and months for the andre (that's in the living room) in a custom fabric. It is one of the firmest of the room and board sectional line. That said, the cushions do lose shape a bit (need fluffed, adjusted) and the seat cushions lose firmness over time. Still, we are happy with it and it will be here til we die or retire....

We've had our Holden Sofa for about 6 weeks now and so far we are very happy with it. It is a well made piece with clean modern lines, had great difficulty finding a modern sofa that was reasonably priced. The cushions on are all holding their shape thus far. The true test will be 6 years from now has this sofa held up as well or better than our prior Rowe sofa that we paid much less for.
