My R and B sales person suggested I buy 2 rugs so hopefully one would work since they are each unique. It turned out to be a great suggestion. The 2 rugs were quite different and one was just perfect! I am very happy with the purchase. The cowhide rug adds a unique natural element to my contemporary living room. The hide is large and makes a great statement if you can leave much of it exposed ( not covered with furniture).

The very helpful salesperson at Room and Board in San Francisco laid out all of the cowhide rugs they had in stock so I could choose the one I liked best. I ended up picking a color that I didn't expect (off white with black striped pattern), but it was such a beautiful and unique rug that I couldn't resist. I have been really pleasantly surprised with how durable the rug is and how clean it stays. And my cats love to roll around on it!

A great piece and a wonderful alternative to zebra rugs. We needed something in black and white and knew zebra rugs were sketchy in terms of where they come from, and if they are raised only for their skin (not ok) some folks wont' like anything coming from an animal but if you're wanting some treatment like this and want to sleep at night this is a great option.

Grossly overpriced when compared to the Swedish store, and similar. A Brazilian hide is a Brazilian hide, nothing more or less. Hence, buy the least expensive.

There are obviously lots of variations of each skin, even within the product color options listed on the site. You might get a "tan" one that is almost entirely white, or with a big splotch of brown or black. There is nothing wrong with this variation, just that buyers should expect it. Be very careful if you have moveable furniture on top of this rug (ottomans, chairs on casters, etc). Moving furniture against the hair grain can create small, unsightly tufts.

This is the largest, most beautiful hide I have seen. So nice to be able to see it in the store and choose the one I liked best. It added just the right touch to my office. Spills wipe up and the cat and dog can't harm it.
