I have this piece standing upright by my sofa as an end table. It's great! It never wobbles (even on carpet) and I store reading material in the cubby. I also have a small blanket rolled-up in there. Absolutely perfect for my living room.

The only issue is the finish is dull and not very interesting, we waxed it with furniture wax and it looks much richer and has a cool depth to it now.
